  • WAIT...no Patsy Cline??? :0((

  • @PlanoPrincess Can't fit everyone in lol.

  • This is great but I wish you would have put their names on the pics so we wouldn't miss anything when we have to go to the bottom of the list to see who someone is. IMO GREAT POST THOUGH. THX!!!

  • @PlanoPrincess Thanks :)

  • @PlanoPrincess Actually, the names WERE there. You just had to scroll the arrow down, and there they were. God bless!

  • Thanks for including CHARLY MCCLAIN!!!

  • Taylor Swift's got my vote. Bet she can sing a lick, too.

  • How could you exclude Emmylou Harris>>??

  • @jerrywscott

    Absolutely! Never forget Emmylou!

    Debby

  • Sherie Austin.

  • who is the women at 222

  • Can someone explain why women in country western music use so much mascara?

  • love this track!! beautiful country girls too!

  • shanniiiaaa twaainnn!!!!!!!!!!<3

  • Where is DONNA FARGO? She should be in this list!

  • Well, Marty must know about them being a dream...he's married to one of the GREATEST that ever sang a COUNTRY song....

  • Who thinks that charly mcclain is a better singer than reba mcentire?

  • Comment removed

  • and the dixie chicks

  • What about Emmylou.H?

  • Love hearing Marty Stuart singing Western Girls!

  • Great song.

  • Yep :)

  • Thank you for not forgetting my favorite, Loretta Lynn! :) Great vid!

  • Thanks.

  • Great check songs and assemblage bravo lache not:)) xx

  • Thank you.

  • Great video, but without the hottest of them all: JENNIFER NETTLES of Sugarland!!!!

  • That would miss the point of the video...

  • I am not as great as any of these country female stars but I have repsonded with my own country song, hope you'll watch Running Into Town live video. I am recording it next week, anyway thanks this Western Girls song is very sexy!

  • real nice song and lyrics and I love the compilation foto's. Sweet Sweet Dolly huh?

  • PATSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Bobbie Gentry never considered herself a country singer. Nashville adopted her and she hosted various award ceremonies but she only recorded 1 'country' LP - her album of duets with Glen Campbell.

  • Her own brilliant LP's have far too many folk, blues, jazz and classical influences to be considered 'country'.

  • A lot of Country singers have non-Country influences. Folk essentially is Country, just less commercial.

  • I agree but in Bobbie Gentry's case the label of 'Country' singer is inappropriate/misleading. The only aspect of her sound that ticks the 'country' box is her singing accent which obviously made her desirable to that portion of the country audience who liked their music a little more... 'blue'.

  • Though she took full commercial advantage of the country establishment's embrace, in every interview I've ever read where she was asked about 'influences' she never once used the term 'country' or mentioned any artists of that genre.

  • Time and again when I play a Gentry record to someone, they will say "I thought she was a country singer". Which, I have to say, was the reason I didn't investigate her until I'd actually heard her. Though I'm certainly aware of the talent of some of the other artists on your list, I don't actually own 1 record by any of them.

  • Strike that! Just saw Gillian Welch - Got lots of her stuff.

  • no one can compare to charly mcclain

  • Martina? Trisha? June Carter? Faith? come on you missed the big ones

  • This is good work but it would be great for a Part II (and a Part III and so on). The greats need to be included that came before most of these ladies - Patsy Cline, Linda Ronstadt, Tammy Wynette, Olivia-Newton John, EmmyLou Harris, et al. But it was great to see Dotty West! Thanks.

  • LUV LEE ANN WOMACK!!! Nice video!!!

  • And great to see Kathy Mattea...!

  • OMG Crystal Gayle. I remember my parents telling me she has the longest hair down to her knees or ankles? Who is that chick in the yellow shirt after shania twain? Can't reconize her.

  • It's Kacey Musgraves.

  • That is Connie Smith

  • Where's LeAnn Rimes, Martina McBride, and Faith Hill? You forgot some of the most talented women in country music!

  • I gave quite clear reasons already why Martina & Faith aren't in it.

  • i am looking for this 1 country singer who i really like but i cant find her. i think her name is sara but it is not sara evans. 1 of her song is like... "when we're on the phone and you talk real slow.... cuz its late and your momma don't know (dont know the middle)... askin' god if hecan play it again." another one of her songs is on the radio but i dont know how it goes. its real slow and she kinda has a high pitgched voice. do any of u no who im tlkin about?

  • That's Taylor Swift's "Our Song".

  • omg, thank you sooo much! my teacher used to play her cd all the time when we were working. i never thought i could like country music, but a lot of it is good.

  • What, no Dixie CHicks?

  • My Loretta Lynn is the all-time queen!!!

  • And Emmylou ?

    But it's a great job...

    thanks...

  • What about LeAnn Rimes?

  • faith hill has many country songs even on her newest album

  • So did Frank Sinatra.

  • patty loveless is beautiful

  • I think you should have honored Faith Hill and LeAnn Rimes too, I just can't see why Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler. Anyway, good vid.

  • How many times do I have to say it, Faith Hill no longer records Country music so she would have been way out of place in this video.

  • yeah, i thought of leann rimes also. faith hill was just on oprahl but leann was the one i thought of who was missing. OOh - yeah, Patsy Cline. Thanks - that's a cute video.

  • Juice Newton looked great! But where are Sylvia, Patsy Cline and Wanda Jackson? Did I miss them? Great tribute though!!

  • great! yes, they are classy ladies!

  • sorry wronf name I mean june carter (cash)

  • and carlene carter and linda davis, dixie chicks, nancy sinatra, ..

but from who is the song? altough I love you're pictures and the song!

  • Since when is Nancy Sinatra a Country singer?

  • Where is Trisha Yearwood?

  • Sylvia!!!!Where is she??? And The Sugar Part of Dave and Sugar, Jeannie Fricke?, Jan Howard?, janice that was Buck Owens fiddler and wife for about three Weeks, Louise Mandrell...lots to put in

  • where are faith hill and leann rimes

  • Faith Hill is a Pop singer, although I don't know how I left LeAnn Rimes out. I had more singers I wanted to fit in but there just wasn't time on the song.

  • but carrie underwood and kellie pickler deserve a tribute..?

  • Carrie & Kellie sing Country, so, um, yeah...

  • lol that's your opinion just like mine is that faith hill does as well. Plus, she deserves a tribute more than those two.

  • It's the opinion of anyone who likes their Country to actually be Country.

  • have you heard faith hill's earlier music then?

  • Yes, it's a shame she went over to Pop.

  • Not yet.....

    Must I do???

  • Sorry...I mean not stil listen last faith hill album...

    And must i do...??

    :)

  • Just listen to Faith Hill and Tim McGraw's new song I Need You, you will quickly figure out that it is definantly country. Besides, why would Faith Hill have been nominated for female vocalist of the year so many times at the CMAs IF SHE DIDN'T SING COUNTRY MUSIC?

  • This is easy, they let anybody into the CMAs as well as country music that's why most new country sucks.
