One of the best pianists of the 20th century, no doubt. Here she looks like a typical sweet old grandmother, then she sits at the piano and... ?!?! There may be faster versions, but I love the clarity here, and for a 74-year-old the energy is just incredible!

De Larrocha and CSO's version is more leisure than Bernstein's and NOF, but I have a suspicion it is closer to what Ravel had in mind. Supposedly Ravel wrote under the influence of jazz, and, while the movement is a Presto, it is hard to believe he would go for sharpness.

What a great artist she is!!!Alicia de Larrocha is very well known for her superb interpretations of spanish music, but I think that she is much more than just that. Mozart, Beethoven, Scarlatti, Grieg, Bach, Chopin, Liszt, Ravel,Brahms, Shumann, Shubert, etc, etc, etc. I had the chance to be in many of her live concerts and, believe me, she has been one of the best pianist of our time. Tu nombre, que no será el que aparece en tu DNI, más bien uno para ¿ocultarte?, me dice que eres un musiquillo de jazz aficionado y chapucero que intenta improvisar y no le sale:todos los grandes del jazz amaban la música clásica, simplemente porque la premisa para ser un buen músico es no cerrarse a nada, así que allá tú si quieres cometer la gilipollez de cerrarte a tantos siglos de belleza.
