  • yes, the kubotan is a very efficent self defence weapon,

but it's very dangerous to use the keys as a whip...the kubotan is effective in pressure points like the wrist, elbow, even the armpit.. but people should know the proper stance, posture and movement of the body in correlation to the kubotan is key.. the attacker isn't just gonna have his face or wrist open to an attack..

  • Btw minister of defense, I reccomend doing a steel telescopic impact baton. They're cheap, they're small, but they're bone breakers

  • I have a kubaton that you can pull in half and reveal two small pressure point blades on the inside, I highly recommend this

  • Is the pointed of flat end one better? Thanks!

  • @ballerboy315

The pointed end makes it harder to lie that it's "just a keychain decoration".

  • @ballerboy315 I like the pointed end simply because it drives the point home just a bit more! Thanks for the comment!

  • Sharpie stainless!

  • Tactical pen!

  • thanks for making this video.

  • @Subllime48 Hey thanks for viewing, and commenting on the video!

  • I'm on my 3rd kubotan now. Over 20 yrs of carry. awesome & forgotten weapon.

  • @dangerclose222 So true indeed my friend. Carry with confidence! Thanks for your comment!

  • someone said it's just plastic, ummm, mines is made of high grade steel, with 2 spikes protruding from the top. bottom line, they are not all the same, research. the key is in knowing how to use it and frankly, having something is better than nothing at all. i am not saying you shouldn't get the cops, parents, or 911 involved if your in danger, however, when you're being attacked you may not have a chance to call anyone. it's a mad mad world out there. i appreciate this video, THANKS!

  • @coffybean1 You are right my friend, and thanks for commenting!

  • Thanks for the video. I really appreciate people like yourself. God bless and once again thank you. ;)

  • @bigdog131000 Well thank you for watching and comenting, liking, and rating the video. Im inspired to do more! Let me know what you would like to see!

  • I use mune for safety on the doors

  • Do *NOT* bring these onto an airplane, train, bus, etc. They *ARE* considered to be a weapon, and you will be treated as such should you have to talk to law enforcement/actually use it/get seen carrying one/etc. Even though nobody except those who should knows what the hell they are, and how to use them...

  • A better weapons is a pen

  • Also, you can use them for getting leverage on your opponents body. One common thing to do would be to use the kubaton to pry someone's thumb off of your neck. Or at least that's what I was taught.

  • Are these legal in the city and in Michigan, if so I may need to get one cause of my surgery coming up. Plus of my dysplasia. Is there a age limit too? I am 14 and I don't want to purchase one and find out they are illegal to have in my state. It would be great if you could reply. Thanks.

  • @MegaCocacola24 I have one, and I am 14...It was given to me in my martial arts class. You could probably check state laws, but just don't try to bring it on an airplane or to school.

  • @MegaCocacola24 Because of "dysplasia"? It takes strength to use this weapon, it is, after all, just a plastic stick. No offense. But if you feel that your daily life is unsafe FOR ANY REASON, and need to carry a weapon, you need to *SERIOUSLY RETHINK EVERYTHING*. You're going to get yourself killed by the first person you pull a plastic stick on. It doesn't matter who, especially if you're disabled. Get help from cops, parents, teachers, whoever. You can also call 211 or 311 in major cities.

  • @CowTaurog You clearly have no understand of any martial art, especially any such as Ju Jitsu where the Kubotan is used regularly. With NO strength whatsoever is is possible to put the strongest and most agile people onto the ground, complying with you.

You see, it's all down to body mechanics and infliction of pain. NOT to cause SERIOUS injury. I study JuJitsu and have a kubotan. If someone pulls a knife on me, I can defend myself without killing them.

    Plain and simple.

  • understanding*

  • oooh snap. the minster of defense? better watch yourself.

  • This can definitely be a powerful weapon in the right hands, but for one to say that they would rather be shot or stabbed is ridiculous. No one in their right mind would rather be stabbed in the neck or gut than hit with a kubatan.

  • The throat is vulnerable but not very accessible. A better target would be the temple or eye socket area with a hammerfist.

  • i amsaloutly love you man!!! you rock

  • nice but how is a kubotan effective against the ears (knows nothing about the use of a kubotan)?

  • @Striker51z lets put it this way. ears are fuckin sensative!!! i know this coz once my bro smacked me hard on the ear with a stick, and it hurt for the rest of the day

  • @duncers79 true, i can understand clapping the ears but if you were able to hit the ears then you'd probly be able to hit the temple which can be better it my honest opinion.

  • @Striker51z

Yes, but depending on what kind of Kubaton you have, an attack on the ears may vary. For example I've a custom aluminum "pen" Kub which's 6 and a 1/2 inches L, with a W of 1/2 an inch.. It's weighted at both ends so if I rapped someone on the ears with the end cap, they'd surely feel it.. Another attack is the auxiliary nerve under the ear lobe... If yours has a point, and if not.. A hard press on that area will do the job.. Pressing on the upper ear cartilage is good too..

  • @nuttybollockz intreasting.

  • I make my own 'custom' yawara and kubotan weapons out of harvested olive wood and bamboo (yep, bamboo). I have some and once pressing the kubotan against it's handle, it extends and some that are for use to inflict severe pain onto the attacker from side attacks and back. A Ring on the handle slides to add an extra force of weight once inflicted upon the attacker, making it a lot stronger at a milisecond's grasp. I will have enough by the end of this year to sell on eBay. Let me know.

  • Hey man I have one and I virtually take it with me wherever I go. However, I have one that has three pointed edges and I want another one. where could i get another in a website that sells legit ninja kubotans that I described? Thanks man :)

  • @nrodri10 Hey thanks for commenting. I do have the Kubotans you speak of and my website is days away from completion. Email me for further help. I can help you!

xs at Mr XL Smith dot com.

  • i have one i put a piece of string and a medallion at the end of it so its a whip and the kubaton is the handle

  • i have recently purchased a paracord kuboton im waiting for it to be deliverd but are these any good i hadnt realy looked into them before my purchase

  • if u attach it 2 ur keys n u wanna use it without swinging ur keys like a bat.. wouldn't the keys just get in the way?

  • @Tnt14tyson no dude , and u can use the keys much like a nunchaku to confuse, intimidate and as grasping point for levarage on wrists etc.

  • @Tnt14tyson they do a little bit because they can sometimes hit on your knuckles but i guess in the heat of the moment you wont even notice them being there

  • Good info, wish the video was longer so you could explain more scenarios.

  • the ears eyes and throat are also good places to attack when attacking someone! thanks for the tips

  • Nice video once again Xavier, what I did was, I got a piece of aluminium rod from a wind chime and wrapped paracord around it, works lke a charm!

  • we were training with these about 3 years ago, and my buddy broke my hand, these things are no joke

  • @IrishJimmyB Hey thanks for commenting! You are right! These are very inexpensive tools to help you stay safe and avoid becoming a victim!

    Thanks again for your post!

  • @ministerofdefense123 Are Kubotans allowed (legal) in america?

  • GREAT VIDEO! Haven't thought of marketing to real estate agents for safety, but i guess it can get alittle dangerous showing houses to strangers by yourself. Any advice/links/techniques for the kubotan with the two spikes that extend between your fingers?

  • @GabrielGroverMan Hey thanks for commenting! Stay tunned as I will cover what you can do with the ninja Kubotan!

Thanks again for your comment! Glad to be of service.

  • Xavier..nicely done. Thanks!

  • @Zenmamau2b Well thanks for your comment! We will have more coming your way soon!

  • the only thing i don't like about the kubotan or any other weapon is that its harder not to kill the attacker

  • hit the person on the throat can kill ther person is it ok to kill that person?

  • Loving the mustache, this guy is a real hunk!

  • Thanks I just got a Kubaton for my friend whos a girl Ill send her this video so it help her know how to use it :p Great video

  • @qwerty474 Glad to be of service.

  • NICE VID

  • @jakimMmmmmm Thanks for the love!

  • you should recommend a tactical pen (smith and wesson makes one). Made from aircraft grade aluminum, it's 100% legal as a kubaton may not be depending on where you live. The cold steel sharkie is awesome as well

  • @YuriGee718 Very good! This is the first I heard of this pen. Sounds good! I would like to know more about it! Thanks for the comment!

  • Hey.My favorite is the KUBUTAN from COLD STEEL.Its made good, not expansive and has effect on two sides.Fore more grip with bloody or sweat hands i use skateboarding griptape in the middle.Try it^^ and take care of your ass dude ;-)

  • @Tschurarji Yes I know the one you are talking about! Sounds like you are ready for just about anything! Thanks for your comment. Be safe out there.

  • I did not know being a realtor is so dangerous that a dedicated self defense video is available.

  • @PMCWong1 Hey thanks for your comment! Yes it is dagerous at times and that is why I am addressing these and others issues that real estate agents and other professionals have with safety!

We will be releasing more videos, DVDs and other material for safety so stay tuned!

  • @PMC Wong1 You would be surprised at how many Realtors lost their life putting the dollar before safety!

Thanks for your comment and be safe!

  • @EastPB Having one of these at your disposal increases both your power and mental confidence if used properly!

Ultimately, using the knowledge of the human anatomy at the right time, you may not event need to use the kubaton. However, having one will definitely put the odds in your favor.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • Hi, Mr Xavier..

Just want to ask what if your opponent is carrying a knife and you are carrying a kubaton, is there a way to defend or fight with him ?

  • @exaggerating haha dude i hear about this kubaton shit all the time. so i went youtube to check any usefull vids on it. Because frankly first thing that came to my mind was why not a knife. There are all kinds of knives in all sizes also same sizes as kubaton so u can get it in ur pocket easily, there are knives which u can attach your keys to, too. and i have one with a glassbreaker on its handle its a folder when its closed its pretty much a kubotan. Knife is THE close range weapon period.

  • @Gzail -Yeah, I know knives are more useful as a tools or weapons. I just wanna bring out something not so lethal as a defensive weapon.

  • @Gzail Hey there, thanks for your comment!

If a Knife works for YOU, go with what you like! This is more for those who are looking for a NON- Lethal way to empower themselves and stay away from a civil lawsuit!

I would hope you do not have to use either weapon, rather have enough knowledge to never be a victim again.

    Thanks again for your comment.

  • This was a really helpful kubotan guide. thankyou for posting this. =]

  • Thanks for the non lethal advice

  • lol just get a gun :p

  • actually the kubaton is not illegal in the uk,its a key ring! well thats what ive always said and no police have ever tried to arrest me for carrying one.

  • In the UK Kubotan's are considered an offensive weapon..so if you don't wish to break the law but still have a similar self defence weapon...a good steel pen cam be just as effective if used in a similar fashion.

  • umm im pretty sure a blow to the throat with a kubaton would be lethal especially if you hit the hyoid bone or the carotid artery

  • @34601k

It is and could make the attacker choke and if hit hard enough it could even make them faint. :)

  • why for realtors?

  • realtors get calls and make appointment to meet people at a vacant house up forsale. They have no idea who their prospective is. Now many realtors have these 'buyers' meet them at the realestate office and ask for ID's, but that's not a 100 percent deterrent.

  • @2ra0bid9

    Think about it...

  • @2ra0bid9 Who else makes a full day out of showing random people random houses? Especially if you're a female.

  • you can make one out of wood like i did last night

  • i think it increases the power of the punch...the whole energy will hit the target at the small point at the top of the kubotan...maybe you can break somebodys skull with it..so i think it can be a deadly weapon

  • @schniedelidi1 anything can be deadly.... A rock on the ground, a kick or a punch might be fatal. but still this guy should have been talking way more about the consequences of one´s actions if one were about to use one of these

  • If hit in the throat, just a firm strike, would a Kubaton be lethal? Great video. 5*

  • Thanks for the question. It all depend on how firm the strike is. I would encourage you to take a few lessons. Where are you located?

  • @gunfan50bmg anything to the throat can be lethal. Even if you trip someone up they can hit their head and die lol. thats why it must never ever be used unless there is absolutely no other option.

  • @gunfan50bmg Firm strike to the temle, defenately a good chance to be lethal.

  • @gunfan50bmg

I have a custom aluminum one that's weighted at the end.. And from training, the answer is yes.. A Kubaton is very lethal if used to it's effect... A hit to the throat can injure the larynx the and trachea which could cause by force of trauma a collapse of the windpipe and with spasmodic reaction of the passage, death by suffocation...

Personally I'd rather be shot or stabbed with a knife..

  • @nuttybollockz

That is true. I would MUCH rather be shot. Stabbed, not so much. Personally, I would pick a firearm over a Ku - Baton any day for concealed carry, but that's just me. :)

  • @gunfan50bmg same thing I wondered about...

  • hey good video man!

I have a question, can Kubotan cause a high damage to the pearson, if you hit pearson in the eye, can he be blind?

  • Thank you for the question! Well the eye, by nature is a very sensitive area of the human body. It does not take much presure at all to damage or even blind someone!

The Kubotan is a great defensive tool to have at your side!

  • tnx for the answer, i have another question, are you using the spikes kubotan, which has 4 spikes inside, are there different kubotans?

    enjoy

  • Punker182, I think MoD is using an aluminium self-defense stick, as the term 'Kubotan' is a trademark referring only to plastic/resin molded, non-sharpened self-defense tools. The true kubaton has no spikes or sharp edges. Because of this, it can also be used to spread the weight when carrying heavy shopping bags (and of course stop you losing your keys). You really don't need anything fancy; just a stick once you learn kubotan basics.

  • it sounds like you want to hurt somone hunh

  • the eye has about the same consistency of a firm grape.

  • cool video...godd job dude!!

  • Thank you for taking the time to comment! I am glad to be of help.

  • Great video! My mom, my sister, and my niece all have them....and know how to use them thanks to you!! I've got my pepper spray, but I'm thinking a kubotan might be nice on a windy day! : P

  • Excellent video clip Xavier. I like the ability to whip the keys back and forth. Generates a lot of energy

Point of the baton to the forearm would charlie horse the forearm extensors!!

    Larry Kaminer

  • Hey thanks for commenting Larry! Just happy to be of service.
