In HL2, the voice acting, story and atmosphere are phenomenal, no doubt, but the gameplay is what really shows the genius of valve. For example, I have the option to waste ammo on a zombie, or chop it in half with a saw blade. Or hell, turn on the gas, create a spark, and burn it alive. Then again, why not just shoot a couch at it? This is why HL2 is awesome, not just storyline.
