Too bad we can never go back in time...RIP Conway Twitty

  • 2 of the greatest singers of all time right there. there wont ever be another conway or loretta , and nobdy will make it look as easy and as natural as they do

  • Love this song by 2 of the best. Also heard this song on a video on youtube

song by Emily Portman, wow she is good.

Thought nobody could give LL a run for her money but this Emily sounds just as good.

  • @joemanpjg ...I like Emily, she does a good job, but she'll never be Loretta.

  • reminds me of a much simpler time.... great honest singing and a time to be cherished forever!

  • fabulous song and even greater duet Country as it should be R.I.P. CT

  • I've been following Loretta's career since I was just an itty bitty girl. I remember my granny & grandaddy havin' to yell at me to get my attention and move out from in front of the tv when she would come on Hee Haw. I was so star-struck by her! 35+ years later, and I still love her just as much as I did back then...her voice is still the prettiest thing I've ever heard and her smile still makes ME smile! :)

  • I love this song but how in the world did he get his hair to look like that.

  • I just adore Loretta's accent! "After the "FAR" is gone"....haha, she's so cute! :)

  • This was the real country....PLEASE COME BACK!!

  • king and gueen, of country music

  • exceptional couple duet....just smoothering, smoothening....

  • loretta lynn's voice is so sexy, maybe the best female country singer ever

  • Got I hate today's New Country. I miss real Country like Loretta and Conway.

  • I met Conway in April of 1980 at a truckstop at Ek]lkton, MD. when his tour bus took a

    pit stop. Quite a gentleman.

  • Conway's oldest son Michael is a big business guy in Nashville now.

  • They look so happy together. Such a great song, I listened to this over and over again, and still love it! God bless them both.

  • There's only one Conway we miss you Conway !!

  • conway is soooo HOTTTT!!

  • 6 people are tone deaf or maybe just deaf from listening to boom boom bongo music.

  • ....... RIGHT!! blind & deaf!!

  • look at that beautiful hair! they have such chemistry

  • I Love this song! wish today's country was like this. Country ain't country no more!!! i don't waste my $, i'd rather buy this Music, B cause THIS IS REAL COUNTRY !!! Thanks for Sharing :)

  • mr conway twitty cool dude

  • In my opinion, they were the best duets of all time in country. They had such chemistry together. My uncle use to call Loretta Lynn his girlfriend when he would see her on Hee Haw.

  • wonderful, classic!!!!

  • I listened to this stuff in High School and always loved it.

Conway and Loretta- other than George and Tammy, it's the BEST it gets !!

  • John Hughey's steel made Conway's music the best it could be! It was excruciatingly gooood!

  • Her hair is BEAUTIFUL!!!!! I love them both so much!!

  • i just adoreee this song, this couple, and no one in the whole world can do better performance than this magical couple

  • Now this is real country not this new wantta be.

  • "sing it pretty.." :D

  • conway and loretta made a team these were old time favorites

    :)

  • another great song by the late

( conway twitty ) rest in peace

love always your fan - barbara .

  • On the word 'cold' in the refrain line... God that high lonesome harmony makes the hair standup on the back of your neck!

  • Wow, what memories. Love them both and they were great together. : )

  • wow, it's been a long time, still as good as i can remember as a child.

  • my favorite conway and loretta tune! "we know that its wrong for us to meet, but the fires went out at home. theres nothin' cold as ashes after the fire is gone." jesus man!

  • another classic from two of the most respected artists in country music

  • love the hair...both of 'em.

  • Conway had a lot of soul.

  • I can´t listen to you enought... Love you both!!!!!

    Hugs Bright Mary

  • i love that steel guitar

  • The late John Hughey does a wonderful steel guitar solo in this song. He was my dear friend and I miss him very much.

  • Agreed, to me the steel guitar is the best part of country music. In my book, the more twang the better. This is one of the great songs.

  • there will never be another conway

  • @ANGELOF69 You got that right!

  • @ANGELOF69 ...Or Loretta! When God made these two, he broke the mold! :)

  • I wonder sometimes, just how many times Conway hit that.

  • tommo70.. agree with uTube and stations

like The Roadhouse or Willie's Place preserving the music. I'm just saying that technology has for the most part destroyed accoustical and roots music. Yes, Alison Krauss or Ricky Skaggs are around, but the the big money is plugged in stuff like Toby Keith or the whole younger crowd. Not that I don't like Toby, it's just that traditional sounds are not hip enough with the shock thing of modern culture. They don't much Merle or

    Willie on modern country.

  • I love them both so much!!!

I was lucky to have met them--Loretta only once, but Conway, several times!!!

  • What year was this from ?

  • Comment removed

  • No. Around 1970. I was born in 1970.

  • Loretta is at her most beautiful stage of her life!!

  • country has changed because the world has changed. Cable TV and a digital world and

a vanishing small town America are the causes. Roots music of any kind is more of a novelty than anything else today. Swing, country, jazz...gone except for a few hard core...not hip enough or visual enough for an urban world.

  • Actually, I think digital technology is allowing a lot of the art forms you mention to revitalize, with the internet especially, but also for instance with the specialty channels on sattelite radio that are dedicated to some of these once almost forgotten forms.

  • They don't make it like this anymore, give me some classic country anyday - this stuff will rip your heart out and stomp on it a couple of times.

  • you got that right

  • This is pure country ! Just a classic by 2 country hall of famers !

  • There will never ever be anybody as good as Conway and Loretta especially these days all with Taylor Swift and people like Miley Cyrus. I was not born in that time but I know what good music is and today it ain't good. I love Loretta forever!

  • "Sing it baby" Loretta is one sexy lady!!!!

  • what a great duo together that sung so beautiful together and miss you conway. you and loretta will sing again in heaven one day.

  • She has said, when her husband had a heart attack, and he was in the hospital, Conway was on his way to see them when he collapsed. He died that night. They may have been stars, and entertained all of us, but they were people first, and cared about one another. This was a lasting relationship, and one that spanned many years. And what a lovely relationship it was, for all of us. The music they created cannot be easily reproduced. It will live on, even after they are gone. Thank you.

  • idc what anyone says eventhow loretta and conway where married to different people they still had something going on!!!

  • Long live this great duo and this great classic country, country is changin so much these days...I just wish it could be like this again! We love and miss ya Conway, but when Loretta goes...God and the angels will be waitin on you two to give them a show...and I know it will be just as great as ever!!

  • My sister & I used to take turns singing Conway & Loretta!!

  • Pure classic country music at it's best...

    Conway and Loretta....What a duo

  • Great duet!Conway and Loretta the best.We will miss you Conway.

  • Then why the hell are you listening to it dumb xxx.

  • AMEN ANG THAN YOU GOD 4 CC & LL

  • Thanks. I really like seeing all of these older clips from the 60-70 era. I am 42, I remember watching country greats such as these on Hee Haw every Sat Night as my parents were getting ready to go Hit the bars on US 40. WOW. !! What I would give for these days back..

  • that is country.

  • Duets come and go, but there'll never be another Conway and Loretta!!! These two laid the standard that continues to measure all great country duets!! They were awesome! Sure wish those days were still here!

  • Loretta was at her Most beautiful stage in this era.She is some kind o woman!

  • Conway you tha man! I dig that hair-do!

  • awe...i wish i had hair liek loretty

  • The early '70s were such a great time for duets: Conway & Loretta, George & Tammy, Porter & Dolly...

  • Man, what I wouldn't give to have Conway's hair.

  • i love this song good one

  • i love this song good one

  • great duet. john hughey was a great steel player. nobody will have the tone that he had. wow! he was the best as far as i am concerned

  • This is a great video! I devoted a VLog to John Hughey when he passed away recently. If I had known about this clip, I would have run this vid on the tribute VLog. Thanks for posting this gem.

  • Conway and Loretta were an undeniably great

duo. Give them a song like "After the Fire is Gone" and they were untouchable.

It's nice (and so appropriate) that John Hughey gets camera time for playing the fire

    out of that Emmons.

  • I agree, both about Conway and Loretta, as well as John Hughey. John certainly deserved to share the spotlight with the biggest of stars.

  • nice to see them sing together.love their sound.

  • very good video they were falling for each other then

  • no, you dont understand "showbussniss", Mac

  • they are great togethr and she is so beautiful
