Ha it's so funny, i just got this game and YES it does COMPLETELY mimic gears of war battle engine. hell i think the main character even sounds like marcus a little. regardless of the perception however if you can look past the "yes it does play like gears" thing, it's actually a really cool game. challenging at that later on as you progress. as you will fight waves enemies purely by yourself for a while. but i think it's worth checking out at least. gears is still better though lol sep 20! gw3

@r0n53n No. This game is poorly executed, which is what makes it different from Gears of War. The controls are bad, killing the enemies isn't really that satisfying, and the environment lacks detail and is very bland. Just not fun. Something that Gears of War is.

Just played the demo. I'm a PS3 owner but have played xbox with my friends and my brother has an xbox and Gears of War. This game seems like it's trying HARD to be like Gears. It looks great visually, but the controls don't feel very tight. Gears feels better in gameplay. Also I died once near a wall and the character went through the geometry with half his body sticking out. Not good. They need to work on this game some more. Also the AI is DUMB. I'll wait to see what the reviews are.
