I built one with a 7 foot arm and 300 pound counter weight. Put an ear of dry corn in the sling pouch, wait for Squirrel to enter, pull release and presto, instant flying Squirrel. It's a hoot.

As a bit of an expert in this field, lemme give you a few tips.

First: axle is too long; you lose efficiency from the bending of it.

second: more weight. you haven't given the stat, but I can see the counterweight isn't falling fast enough, and your tip speed isn't high enough.

Also, on a project like this, you should give dimensions, so people can give you improvements.

looks like you have the same probs as the one i made.use a heavier counter-wieght, make the weight to bar distance shorter and support the fulcrum point that bowing will significanty decrease power. your sling is too long aswel
