  • There Is none greater will never be the music died with him...

RORY ROCKS! saw him with dad when i was 4 years old in 1993 :D I think It must have been the best day RIP RORY you didn't get the REsept you deserv a Statue and that your songs get palyed way more often!

I see you with Jimi and Philip lynott when i die ey? I bring my guitar and you teach me ! ^^

  • @Grumberf

Rory is finally honored with a statue in 2010, since eralier date is a copy of his famous stratocaster hanging in Temple Bar, Dublin.

  • It's quite simple, really. Rory smokes and Page blows.

  • tatood lady

    bearded lady

    they're my family!

  • @kinggyppo it's bearded baby. nothing big, just so you know

  • bring on ballyshannon..

  • you guys are smoked Page is way more original knew more about the fret board and definitely knew his way around it better Roy is good but no comparison to Page you'd compare Roy to Vaughn if it was about that any way its no competition they are all good whom i just named off and probably smoke yall at guitar

  • @beautifulsound100 Maybe you are right, but yet again it's a matter of opinion. The fact that you deliberately refer to Rory as "Roy", no doubt thinking it's cool or funny, doesn't really give you much credibility I'm afraid.

  • Rory !!.....Rory!! ....Rory!! .....

  • WAY better than Page.

  • Well, Pagey wrote things like "Black Dog", "Kashmir" and "Stairway To Heaven". So I think it's stupid trying to compare them. They are different in style, but equally great.

  • You're absolutely right. Page was a great songwriter, one of the best in the 70's. But as far as playing Rory kicks his ass. Page wouldn't be able to keep up.

  • @jezmundberserker No way Jose! Rory blows Page out of the water. Page was good in the early days but lost his way by trying to be to much to everyone instead of sticking to his guns like Rory did..... What is so great about Black Dog Or Kashmir?? Page's best stuff is on the fist two albums. In my book, Rory shined on stage while Page was very boring.

  • I still think you're trying to compare apples and oranges.

  • sad to see him so fat and old here, alcohol must have been taking the better of him, like a 70ies elvis gone fat, sad sad sad

  • @buchananstreet: You might be right, but it's also true that you're comparing Rory in the 70's and Rory in the 90's, and therefore you should also factor "time" into your equation. I certainly don't look like I did 20 years ago.

  • greatest guitarist ever! i mean his composing skills were unbelievable, are all these comments from ireland?

  • his last show?????

  • No. His last show was in 1995. I think in Netherlands.

  • Last show on Montreux.

  • it hurts me to see this concert, Its not the same rory as we are used to see.

    r.ip

  • he still rocked, man look at him play

  • tout simplement le plus grand,

    simply the best,

    rip rory

  • another fantastic performance from the G Man.

Is there any that are not? I know of none.

thank you again, i watch this over and over and......

    denise

  • same here ^^

  • She is the best irish Volk and Rock Singer...

  • Damn right! :)

  • passion is still there...but he struggles, he struggles :(

  • You're right.

Rory still rocks even if the voice isn't quite the same and hits his Strat to make Her cry as if She were an unfaithfull old lady.

A very moving last show at Montreux festival.

  • Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if the liver transplant went well and Rory continued. Whould his playing improve? Would he play again like he used to? Would he even continue touring? Maybe he'd just continue acoustic.

  • hey lovroasperger,

you and i both know, he would rock!!!!

he's sick here, and still was doin it!!!

there is no wonder in my mind.

    denise

  • Provocative question.

Rory always said (in interviews) that he intended and hoped to continue his career the way the classic U.S. blues guys did...in other words, he intended to play his music, his way, until he dropped.

In one way, that came true. But, oh Hell and godDAMN, he left us far too soon.

RIP Rory, there was no one like you.

  • agree k, no one.

  • rory said he took the music and tried to do something else with it he said fuck that and went back to the roots dis it.

  • ROCK it!

  • how did you get this to play in stereo by default?

  • well there was a time when you could upload it to you tube if you got bit rates in a certain way for audio and video. It doesn't work for me anymore though.

  • This is truly a great performance. I keep watching this, as it it timeless.

  • yeah the best version of this song!! \,,/

  • i love this man so much! his character, his music, his passion everything. he turned me into rock. i simply can't have enough words for him.. greatest greatest ever!!

  • its amazing to think that even when he was so close to death that he could still play like that, RIP rory

  • Great sound!!!!

    Thanks :)
