  • Iv noticed that all the quads and tri's have low kv motors, 700 750. Do they have to be low or can i use something like 1500- 2000 kv? Thanks to anyone who can answer.

  • I'm going to build one because of all of the great info that David has shared. Thanks David!

  • DATS A HUGE HEAD! i appreciate your guy's work. and the cameos are really cool... TV network material...

  • i like the wildcat in the frame at the beginning

  • What is the kit called?

  • No offense to chopper lovers out there but i hate helis because they bore me and i am more into RC planes because i like to perform stunts especially vertical stunts

  • You could probably put rubber washers on all the screws or pins (whatever is use to connect the rods to the center) to reduce the vibrations even more.

  • all parte sale in hobbyking? could you tell me which one?

  • Somebodies eyes are glassy :D!

  • How is the gopro used for recording video and transmitting it

  • Hey, I'm just wondering Whats the difference between the Tricopter and The Average Helicopter ? Ive mastered the Helicopter and im wondering if there's any differnce ? Will i struggle when flying this ? And Where can i buy a tricopter ? ; Australia

  • @iTzMeNo0b Build one! Theyre easy as

  • @iTzMeNo0b Hi - IMHO they are way easier than a heli. I have almost no skill with a help but have a ton of fun with mine. It is built out of aluminium and so pliers and hammer are used after crashes :)

  • sorry it is spelled Swedish Fish

  • hahaha I just noticed that David is from Sweden and they were eating Swetish Fish at 8:13

  • how you put the go pro whit the FPV??

    from argentina

  • Ive seen some tricopters that don't have a pivoting tail motor.....how do they do that?

  • hi. does it need to be tune and balance at the first flight ?

    thanks

    rendy

  • Im a beginner, so can you please give me the correct equipment specifications for this tricopter

  • Way too cool, Ordering my stuff to build one this week.

    Thanks for posting this Guys.

  • wats the KK board?

  • why not a quad?

  • Great videos. I have just recently finished my tricopter and think it works great.

  • josh's face at 5:09 had me giggling like a little school girl...

  • That....is a HUGE bag of sweedish fish. hahahaha and the guy is from SWEEDEN. hehe. SWEEDish fish. SWEEDen. funny.

  • nice - so how much is david's tricopter ready to fly?

  • Fantastic video! What is your KK board model of choice, and where can you buy one? Would you comment on the WII board vs. the KK board?

  • Click on our name below to view and purchase the "Windestal" frame parts pre-cut and even comes with the bolts!

Then visit rcexplorer.se for the david electronic parts recommendations!

David Windestal has given us permission to sell his "Windestal" tricopter Glass FIber parts in g10 material.

  • You guys are great ! I don't know what is you goal, but this is amazing way of demonstrating products !

  • i want to see a video of joshes tricopter

  • Hey Bixler, Here's a flight tip for you to help with vibration on your Tri-copter. Fill the aluminum tubes with canned expanding spray foam. It is extremely light, strong & most importantly absorbs tons of vibrations. Also besides balancing your propeller blades, mount your motor mounts on top of thin rubber pads, also mount your K-board on a thin rubber pad as well, including your camera. Makes a huge difference...

  • i want one so bad now lol

  • How do you build one

  • What do i need to build one of these ?

  • I'd like to build one of these, where could i find the info i need to do so ?

  • Been a fan of David for a while now, He's a great guy. Also been a fan Of Flite Test, The only RC program i watch, Great work guys.

  • I'm makeing 1

  • very nice video - cool guest.

If I ever get bored with my CP-Heli-Flying I will go build a quad- or tricopter

  • What is the music played from 11:20 on?

    It is awesome!

    Great vid!

  • @Martin100k Michael Composes all of our music.

  • @flitetest

    Thanks for your answer,

is that music available for purchase somewhere? (or free giveaway;-)

    Keep those great videos coming!

  • the KK boards are nice but I just tried a Wiiboard it it's even better. Flies like it's on rails.

  • lol he is eating sweetish fish

  • i hated the idea of tri and quad copters till this videos because no one ever took the time to show them

  • Yoo, the swedish invented a real UFO :D

  • Anyone thinking of placing an order at Hobbyking should not waste their time I placed my second order a month ago and they still haven't shipped it out. My 1st order took 3 weeks to get. There are no items on back order and after numerous attempts to try and get answers from them I've pretty much given up and will be contacting paypal for a refund The only thing HK has going for them is good prices their service sucks the big one! Phone support no longer exists live chat is a Joke.

  • Fantastic.

  • 4:44 in... Joshuah actually says something. What on earth is his purpose? Plucky sidekick? Hey, at least he does a good job of making bag sounds.

Why don't you people teach him to build/fly something. Then he can actually inject some intelligence to the conversations.

Not trying to pick on him... Ok, maybe just a little. It is just that there is some good information that gets lost watching the painful "antics" of the J boy.

Hey Joshuah. You got a new name now. It's "J Boy" to the rescue!

  • Great episode!

Seeing your FPV setup made me eager to start flying FPV as well. As a suggestion for a future episode, it would be enormously helpful if you could walk us through the creation of a FPV system, starting with the camera and antenna and connecting these to the power supply on the craft... all the way through to the receiver and the goggles. Thanks. You guys rock!

  • lol - I like the Swedish fish.

  • @redhotpearl1, when you are willing to take risks it shows in the material

and it gets interesting. Check out Trappys new film from Istanbul.

Btw. are you flying fpv or just taking snaps from hover on calm days?

  • @redhotpearl1, It's funny how you Americans are so obsessed with safety. At least you got a german system...But eventually one of those small ESC's gonna burn and you will get a taste of the inevitable.

  • I'm A FAN and the video in the wood, the sun in front to is realy cool, keep going david

  • I hope HK will sponsor WARTHOX on next flitetest video about multirotor... Everybody will surely have a blast watching him fly.

  • to bad i can't suscribe like 500 more times.

  • that was great - I loved the dual wireless link. Is there any noticable deterioration in quality due to this setup?

  • 0:32

  • Got a question. , how is he able to display it the gopro on the screen wirelessly

  • @ehemeyer25 I echo your question. I hope they'll do an episode that details their whole FPV setup, so that people who've never done it before can get their own FPV systems up and running.

  • Got a coulple question. is that a gopro mounted on the chopper? if son, how is he able to display it wirlessly

  • Good choice of guest!

    Thanks for bringing us this.

  • Bixler! You only said "bascially" once, I'm proud of you brother!

  • @flitetest Do you guys know if Hobbyking is going to get any 50cc ariplanes soon? And you guys should do a couple of reviews on their 30cc yak that they have, I would really enjoy seeing that lol

  • latka from taxi!

  • Is there a good known-to-work solution for using the new sensors inside the HK's Gyro HK401B? I Couldn't find it on the rcgroup KK thread!

  • Haha I sound so dorky :D

Great job on the editing guys!

Too bad the weather wasn't good :)

  • Great! It was a good idea to invite a guest!

Dear Flittest-team can you make a tutorial about how I can programm the turnigy 9x for tricops?

I would make a tricopter too but I dont know how does it wok with the turnigy tx.

That would be very nice ;)

  • @SwissTutorial You need a KK board

  • @mq1506 And how much is it?

  • Very cool! I've been meaning to build one of these tri-copters for a while. They look like a lot of fun.

Is that an IBCrazy Cloverleaf CP antenna? I was expecting Josh (or Josh) to comment on it.

  • David just needs a long hat with a bobbly bit and we can call him Noddy :D

  • @hemdroid

It's a lot easier to build an "ultra micro quad-copter" because you lose the servo. Check out the huge MultiWii thread and related threads on rcgroups; a couple guys built really small quads that aren't much bigger than your hand.

  • Nice flying! Looks like a lot of fun.

  • Swedish Fish...nice touch!

  • Luved It. I have a Warthox Board for a Multirotor unit, I just need a fuselage, I was going to go down the Aluminium route but I may consider the wood option as a build material.

  • Where can I buy the black canopy that was on the aluminum tricopter?

  • @rootbeer1997 It is half of an Easter egg.

  • Great show guys.

What rf module was attached to David's Hitec Aurora 9?

  • I really love all these videos, thank you so much!

  • Whats the dirt oval for by the tower ?

  • @ThaBreit Its a Circle track, for many different types of races.

  • can you legally use 1.2ghz in the US?

  • @colgem

"can you legally use 1.2ghz in the US?"

You can use 1280 Mhz in the US but you need a technical license for high power transmission.

  • 00:31 do yourself a favor

  • Nice one!

  • Very cooool I like. That thing sounds like a swarm of bees . heheheh. I wonder what the total cost for the tricopter is?

  • I fly a Hexakopter, Crashing is not an option. Why do you expect to crash? Benefit of more motors: quad, Hexa, Okto, is you can carry heavier gear, better cameras!

  • @redhotpearl1 because you will eventually crash... just a question of time really

  • @caranze Why? Lack of skills? The guy operating the $100,000 RC heli on a film set, is that what he says? Got to expect a crash? I don't think so. I fly $3000+ of gear in the air. Crashing is not an option. I've had close calls and no one is perfect but you don't expect to crash. Mechanical failure is the only excuse and if you properly maintain your craft you shouldn't have problems there. I do it for a company, is that what I'm to tell my client? I might crash into your car, house, etc.?

  • @redhotpearl1 who are you? Show us some bad ass fpv movies or shut up.

$3000 gear "for a company". What soggy cam is that. You never crashed, you lie.

  • @jodde73 I've been flying my Mikrokopter Hexakopter a couple times a week for well over a year now and have never crashed, knock on wood. It has over 50 hours in the air. Check out my Youtube page I have some stuff on there. I have some stuff on Vimeo too under my company's name, Near Earth Imaging. I'm not lying or trying to sound cool, check it out for yourself. I've crashed plenty when I was learning. I've destroyed planes but never crashed my Hexa. Check it out and get back to me.

  • @redhotpearl1 I do take offense though because, A) I know how much my gear was, it's too freaking expensive. Been though 3 camera mounts trying to dial in smooth video. I'm using the MKTR mount now which was $750 right there. B) I never said I was the best RC pilot ever, I just don't think expecting to crash is a good mantra. I use a sim all the time still to get better. C) I'm not a lier, look at my page. I've been working hard to get my AP company going for over a year. So don't call me a lier

  • @redhotpearl1 no but it could happen and then you'll be in deep shit because you were'nt cautious enough

  • @caranze What are you talking about? You don't know how cautious and meticulous I am with my gear. Not only could I damage property I could really hurt someone or worse. I am fully aware of this so I don't need lectures okay? We also have insurance. Accidents or failure can happen at any time and flying the Hexa is more stress than fun so you're not telling me anything I don't already think about. Eliminate pilot error and theres not much to worry about. I take safety seriously, it's a job!

  • @redhotpearl1 So you are expecting crashes afterall. We'll I don't doubt you being carefull...

  • @caranze I'm always aware I can have failure or crash at any time, that's why I don't fly over people. I don't EXPECT to crash though.

  • Wow....You guy's have a lot of flying room....

  • Very Cooooool.

  • Connecting the tricopter to the ground station on 1.3 Ghz and then connecting the GS to the goggles with 5.8 is genius!!

  • It'd be great if you guys can talk more on the mechanism/electronic options n setup of multirotor birds.

  • Nice!

  • 0:32

  • Hey Guys

How about doing some reviews on the camera options that are out there for attaching to RC planes.

I have a bunch of Parkzone planes and I am interested in camera options for attaching to a lightweight plane.

I also fly a real Plane (Piper Navajo), so duct taping a mini cam to either the fuselage somewhere or in the cockpit somewhere would also be a nifty ability.

  • aaaaaa holy shit

THAT WAS AWESOME I have dreamed that this must happend

  • I'd like to see a build/setup video by you guys on this.

  • rc explore guy ,

    i like it!!

  • Very cool! I now have to try and build one! Actually, I might build one with my students. It sounds like a swarm of bees.

  • i should really stop watching your videos... they make me wanna go buy/ build more planes and fly and not concentrate on my studies...

  • I like the way David says "yeah"

  • yeaah, finally we see david in one of the videos ! :D

  • nice one guys, brilliant video. did you sort out davids flight?

  • Great episode! This show should be on "real" TV!

  • funny with the car.

Could you do some more helicopter reviews?

I see you have some helis on the background.

    Great vid.

  • were can i get the k board from .

  • @dvvarf2 David has one on his site! The link is in the description!

  • @flitetest

the site is buggy to the point its unusable for me.

  • @dvvarf2 Hobbyking will have it soon!

  • I <3 tricopters

  • nice one as usual.

  • that is sooo awesome!!!

  • Have the parts for one in the post - great review!

  • @kipper308 They are on Davids site! The Link is in the description.

  • @flitetest Choice of wording fail! I meant I'm currently waiting for the parts to build one which are in the mail! :D
