This is the most grunge thing. I always love it when the grungers make fun of the stupid stereotypes. It's nice to know people outside of the scene get that a lot of the labels were false and funny as well.
I always thought of this song as less an indictment of grunge and more of a satire aimed at the early 90's music industry's efforts in exploiting all things Seattle. As with most scenes, a few bands were really good and the rest were mediocre or sucked completely.
He reminds me of Mitch Hedberg when he talks. I'm so glad Pandora introduced me to him. He appears to be an amazing artist. I'm gonna try to see him in NYC in March
Heard this song on the radio less than three hours ago for the first time. Fell in love with it. Googled it up, found it on iTunes, and it is now sitting snuggly in te playlist of my favorites. I love the intro story! Freaking hillarious!
I am planning on it =) I actually got it because my dad has a few songs in this kind of genre and has been reluctant to try to get them heard. After having him hear it, he now has a Facebook account he's working on setting up and planning on doing a few things for YouTube too =) I'll deffinately be listening to more of Todd though!
If i were stranded on an island with only one cd,,,, i would hope it would be ANY todd sniders cd.... he is by far the best songwriter in the world....
errm u ever heard of neil young, bob dylan or jimi hendrix ? nope? robbert johnson? nope? must just be me then... and dont u dare make fun of my spelling.... peace
All you kids are getting offended, chill out! It's a hilarious song, I'm from Chicago and I don't talk like that at all, but who gives a fuck? it's funny.

@1krang Actually, "Talkin' ...Blues" songs were quite popular back in the day. They all pretty much sound like that. Woody Guthrie did a few.

Just discovered him, he's a hoot. Like a friendly Bob Dylan.
I wonder what he'd be like if Bob Dylan never existed, or at least if he wasn't quite so influenced by Bobby.
A nice breath of fresh air, nonetheless.

First time I caught him was Dec. 2001 opening up for John Prine. Brilliant. I now own all his CD's and play several of his tunes on my guitar.
cavemanillustrations 2 years ago 2
I think I saw him that year, or within a couple years of that.
I also saw him open for Prine, he's been one of my favorite artist since then.

@Smokey4009
They really are identical in humor, their voices can make even the most mundane stories turn into the most hilarious bits you've ever heard.
If only Mitch were still around, a Snider/Hedberg tour would complete my life (and also probably end it, due to suffocation from all the laughter)
