  • This is the most grunge thing. I always love it when the grungers make fun of the stupid stereotypes. It's nice to know people outside of the scene get that a lot of the labels were false and funny as well.

  • Cool video!

  • I always thought of this song as less an indictment of grunge and more of a satire aimed at the early 90's music industry's efforts in exploiting all things Seattle. As with most scenes, a few bands were really good and the rest were mediocre or sucked completely.

  • i liked the story better than the song

  • it's "John Birch Paranoid Blues" by dylan

  • There is something about Todd Snyder.... I can't place it but I could listen to him live for hours.

  • talkin bear mountain picnic massacre, bob dylan, look it up you'll make the connection

  • @1krang Actually, "Talkin' ...Blues" songs were quite popular back in the day. They all pretty much sound like that. Woody Guthrie did a few.

  • damn he was young , guess i was too

  • @skiddyism ok cool thanks for informing

  • I remember when this song came out in '94 or '95. My local rock station used to play it a lot. Good to hear it again.

  • god this guys great

  • Your lyrics and song writing are brilliant!!!

  • To have found this...is today's miracle. =)

  • this guy is fuckin hilarious

  • check out our music on myspace as well as youtube . our myspace audio is way better than our videos

  • Just discovered him, he's a hoot. Like a friendly Bob Dylan.

I wonder what he'd be like if Bob Dylan never existed, or at least if he wasn't quite so influenced by Bobby.

A nice breath of fresh air, nonetheless.

  • First time I caught him was Dec. 2001 opening up for John Prine. Brilliant. I now own all his CD's and play several of his tunes on my guitar.

  • I think I saw him that year, or within a couple years of that.

I also saw him open for Prine, he's been one of my favorite artist since then.

  • He's like the funny Steve Earle.

  • He reminds me of Mitch Hedberg when he talks. I'm so glad Pandora introduced me to him. He appears to be an amazing artist. I'm gonna try to see him in NYC in March

  • @Smokey4009

They really are identical in humor, their voices can make even the most mundane stories turn into the most hilarious bits you've ever heard.

If only Mitch were still around, a Snider/Hedberg tour would complete my life (and also probably end it, due to suffocation from all the laughter)

  • the two bands/artists i could see a million times: phish and todd definitely. what a great songwriter!

  • I bet you are a limp bizkit fan. Piss off! Todd Snider is brilliant.

  • Comaon to astrslia

  • Heard this song on the radio less than three hours ago for the first time. Fell in love with it. Googled it up, found it on iTunes, and it is now sitting snuggly in te playlist of my favorites. I love the intro story! Freaking hillarious!

  • I hope you go further to discover the genius that is Todd Snider. He's amazing to my mind. I think many will find him so.

  • I am planning on it =) I actually got it because my dad has a few songs in this kind of genre and has been reluctant to try to get them heard. After having him hear it, he now has a Facebook account he's working on setting up and planning on doing a few things for YouTube too =) I'll deffinately be listening to more of Todd though!

  • you joking? hahaha

  • I think Jerry Jeff's "Ramblin' Scramblin'" fathered this song...

  • Jamie Brocket did something like this in the early 70s
