I recently lost my ShihTzu. My Sophie,my baby girl. I noticed she wasn't feeling well, I laid down beside her, and kissed her soft head. I could tell she was in severe pain, at the time I didn't know, but she was in total kidney failure. I took her to the vet the next morning, the whole way there I held her in my arms. They ran many tests to confirm the kidney failure. The vet; a family friend delivered the bad news. I held her in my arms before they put her down. It was awful. RIP, my baby girl

we lost our Gizmo in January, he had four major health problems we had no clue about. we took him to the vet one day because he got sick and they couldn't find anything wrong, a month later. he wouldn't even walk. he stopped walking. we took him to the emergency vet and they found out that he had a major urinary track infection, a condition where his heart was messed up and made the outside of the organs fluid and most likley a type of cancer that affected his stomach. we had to put him to sleep

I lost my furry baby, Shadow January 4, 2012. He didn't make it to his 10th birthday (Jan 18). We knew he had developed a murmur and it would take him from us and we all dreaded that day. Our pets are a part of us, I completely understand how you feel. The bible references animals in heaven, you'll see your sweet dog again one day. :) Ask God to give you comfort from your grief. When you are ready, the best thing you can do is to adopt another dog from your local shelter. Not only will you save a life, but the void in your heart CAN be filled again - that's what I did. I will ALWAYS remember and love the pet I lost but my new pet now gives me joy & warms my heart.

My heart truly goes out to everyone. I know exactly what you are going through. I had to put my cat, Cheddar, down after a long battle with cancer. I gently stroked his head as he took his last breath. His death inspired me to write this song - to give comfort, and to relay a message. I feel God gave me this song for a reason - to share with you! The Bible actually references animals in Heaven, Isaiah 11:6-8, so I have no doubt that we will one day see our beloved pets again.

We lost our beloved Raven (a gentle black "mongrel" that shared our life for many, many years) on Wednesday, July 6th. I am still devastated with grief. My wife found this beautiful song on YouTube and pointed it out to me a few moments ago.

It rained the day that Raven died. My wife and I... and our grandsons, Cody and Alex... all watched a beautiful RAINBOW that evening.

You also gave her the gift of your love while she was with you. I had to make the same decision a few years ago with my cat. It gets easier with time. My recommendation is that when you're ready, that you visit your local shelter and pick out a new kitty you can share your love with - you can save a life!
