Singapore take the best of the best, but like all airlines they have laid people off. There is a large surplus of pilots at the moment but maybe starting your career with a smaller airline will help.
Zurich to Singapore is not transatlantic and hey, SIngapore Airline is the world Safest Airline in the world together with FInnair. :) and Singapore Airline is the only airline that only operates widebody airline, so ieven if your flight only last for 1 hour, with them, you will be flying in B777-200. :)
wow just because the majority of Indians choose to fly SIA because of their service and connections into India does not mean SIA stands for Singapore Indian Airlines.
its a B773 ER reg, a 9V-SW* is 300ER with GE90-115B engines (not RR Trent 892 for the 300s/200ERs and RR Trent 862 for the 200s. their 200/200ERs has reg of 9V-SR* e.g
Btw, SQ A380s have been flying to ZRH since late march 2009
Airbus and Boeing do not build the engines for their airplanes they are built and supplied by outside companies, generally GE, Pratt and Whitney Rolls Royce, CFM, etc. If an Airbus and a Boeing have engines made by the same company then they might sound similar.
Those engines! <3

when i m about to fly long distances i prefer the plane to have 4 engines just in case. i dont think its safe with only two for transatlantic flights

That is a B777-300ER with 2 huge GE90
Epip777 2 years ago
I don't think it's an ER variant, notice the lack of raked wingtips.
Edwiness 2 years ago
Its a ER variant, you can see the wingtip at 2:34.
Epip777 2 years ago
Ahh yes, I looked for it but couldn't really see it.

Singapore Air use B777-300Er to Zurich twice a day and from February 2010 onward they will change the twice daily B777-300Er with daily Airbus 380.
SQ163 2 years ago
This is not confirmed yet. My booking in March 2010 still indicates the 777 300 ER.
Tests with the A 380 at Kloten Airport will take place at the 20/21st January 2010

lx343 3 years ago
As already stated by lx343 it is a Boeing 777-300ER.
To be precise, the video shows SQ´s 9V-SWB, a B777-312/ER ((cn 33377/592)!
