Peter is Empathic mimicry. Peter can naturally copy others powers, but has to learn each ability. This became easy though after he met Sylar.

Sylar ability works different, his ability is to understand the complex workings of anything he see. In case of powers, he gains others ability's by cutting open their skulls, and examining their brains.

So no, Peter and Sylar's ability's are not the same zacks1314

@Church96 I think they cut Peter back because Empathic Mimicry is one of the cheaper characters you can obtain. Peter collects a power by simply meeting another with powers. Sylar needs to kill to get power, Peter's dad needs to steal power. Peter, just got it.

I suppose if they let it keep going, Peter would of gotten to the point of becoming almost to strong. So for the sake of the story, they cut him back to Replication.

He got Elle's power using his Empathy, which is like a side effect of intuitive aptitude (Sylar's power). He was able to forma deep emotional bond with her and got her power that way. he kills her because she lied to him about who his real parents were. After he realized she'd been lying to him, he figured there was no hope of ever changing and being a hero, so he killed her.

Clark Kent and most of the DC characters with the exception of a choice few personify the naivete of mankind. Sure it might be implied but it doesn't make for0 interesting character development when for the most part a character has to follow strict guidelines or represent a ideal. Clark Kent is a basically a true blue "good" guy, he plays by the rules, saves innocents, and follows the hero code for the most part but what he and most of his characters represent is the stupidity of man.

the difference between the heroes in this show and heroes such as super man are the fact that superman is 1. not human and 2. a super hero. these heroes and villains are people who either by nature or scientific endeavors have become super human. some have become heroes while others villains. what the show and its characters is portraying is the idea that as humans we posses both good and evil tendencies.
