how to catch articuno with NO mean look: First,lower is hp and it'll flee. and when you meet it again itll still have low hp so on the first turn use a quick ball and it should work better. hope this helps! Good Luck!

Don't use a Pokemon with Arena Trap against the legendary birds because it won't work. Arena Trap doesn't work against flying or levitating Pokemon.

@geogeokark Here is my advice, dont use pokeballs. my cuzin uses pokeballs all the time, i have to help him catch other pokemons. Try using ultra balls, timer balls, quick balls, and (If it is night time use a Dusk ball.

My strategy for catching roaming pokemon:

-A smeargle that knows mean look (from a gastly) and baton pass (girafarig) trained for speed

-Lower accuracy many many times so it can't hit you

-False swipe the crap out of it

-Status ailment (sleep or paralysis are best)

-Lower any other stats you can

-Hunt them at night with a boatload of dusk balls (4x capture rate)

I've gotten mesprit and cresselia this way, still working on the birds.

Actually, to catch the roaming legendaries, you don't need a Pokemon with Mean Look. You can catch a Dugtrio or Diglett with the ability "Arena Trap" which disallows wild pokemon from fleeing the battle, in this case, the roaming legendaries, such as Cresselia, Mespirit or the Birds. You can catch Dugtrio or Diglett in the Resort Area.
