yeash.... that took a while to start shooting its better if you like use like no top soil and like sprout it a little better but this method worked for you but im keen for getting it grown as fast as possible
It truly is a wonderful superfood.. Just make sure that you do it first thing in the morning on a empty stomach...otherwise...it could cause nausea...btw great vid!!
wow that was your first shot and you seemed to really enjoy it! do you have a very green diet as it is? i am currently going raw so i love greens, herbs, and fruits a lot but wheat grass is cloyingly sweet to me to the point that it makes me wince.but i can tolerate it in a good green smoothie.
I use large cafeteria trays to grow my grass. (I place a second tray over top until the grass begins to grow...keeps the moisture in ) Less soil is used this way and 1 tray provides a high yield.
can you help me pleasse? I followed your instruccions, After 1 week without sunlight , my wheatgrass is not green, is yellow. , is the sunlight a problem to grow indoor?? thanks for your attention
You'll need to keep your wheat grass in a sunny place after your wheat berries sprout. Before they sprout, the seedlings have all of the nourishment it needs to get started, Once they begin to sprout, and are reaching out of the soil, take off the damp paper towel and place your bin in a sunny spot. The seedlings will get it's nourishment from from the sun light, and the damp soil. So keep your soil damp, but too wet and they should start growing. Thanks for watching.
If you have a health food store in your area, you can buy some wheat berries, (we used "Hard Winter Wheat Berries") and that should get you started. Thanks for watching our video.
i was wondering too thanks for your answer i did make wheatgrass juice before but the place where i got the wheat grass berries was near a open piece of land where my big community is and this farmer who grew wheat there so when there not looking we pick a few but now where running low and that piece of land i believe is converted to a shcool or maybe for more houses lol.
We bought our Wheat Grass Juicer at wisementrading (dot com), but if you want to juice veggies, we recommend the Omega Juicer Model 8003... It works great. Thanks for watching our video!
The grass does grow back, but not as full as the first time. We sometimes let it regrow an inch or two, then cut it again and juice it, but it doesn't taste as good as the first. Since the root system is pretty complex, it's difficult to reuse the same soil and replant. At least in containers. So we basically have to start the next growth process fresh. Thanks for watching our video.
Depending on the type of juicer you have, I believe you can. We opted for this model wheatgrass juicer because it was fairly inexpensive, and fits into out off-the-grid plans. Thanks for watching.
We had some molding a few times early on and discovered that we needed to simply add more drainage holes to the container. If the water doesn't drain completely we usually ended up with mold on the soil surface. So make sure you have good drainage, and try not to over-water. Keep the soil moist, but not too wet, and with good drainage you'll end up with a healthy harvest. Thanks for watching.
The music we used in the first part of the video is called "Shetland", and it is one of the royalty-free loops that is included in iMovie HD (Version 6). Thanks for watching!
We do water it everyday. We soak the wheat berries overnight, then place them on top of some organic soil and cover them with a wet paper towel. Once the berries start to sprout, we remove the paper towel and keep them in the sun. After they sprout, keep the soil moist, but not too wet. And make sure you put it into a container that has holes on the bottom for drainage. We put one batch into a container without holes and noticed some mold near the soil top... So make sure you have good drainage.
You can get some Hard Winter Wheat at your local health food store. If you can afford to buy it in bulk, do so. The price is rising. Thanks for viewing our video.
Excellent video. Planting wheat grass is so very simple its not even funny. It grows effortlessly (like garden weeds). Your video perfectly shows that. For some reason there are many vids on youtube that make it sound so complicated and it really is not. You dont have to mess with fertilizers or analyze the soil and all that jazz. Those things may make some difference, but it is not really necessary.
You did an excellent job showing the way wheatgrass is made, very cool. I grow my own wheatgrass as well, it is wonderful isn't it? Love the music as well, it really speaks to my Celtic blood. Thanks for sharing with us! Great job!!! Blessings, and peace be yours!
I'd love to buy that song on iTunes. Tried to look up the name 'Shetland' in previous responses but cannot find. I just love it!
