  • no offence to anyone, but the first verse is different from the time I first heard this song, even a different singer did this.

  • dude i totally remember this show, the intro at the very least.

  • 43 seconds of musical crack.

  • Where can i find FULL EPISODES ? Please Help.

  • @murdy1975 if you (or anyone) finds out let me know too lol

  • This brings sooo many memories, back when I used to watch it on The Disney Channel!!

  • That's gotta be hard on the Self Esteem; you have the genius twins, and then the younger brother just gets the shit end of the Genetic stick and blunders everything up.

  • Memories of my old rabbit ears TV from Sears came flooding back. I love YouTube!

  • I last saw Marnie McPhail in Star Trek First Contact

  • When I was about 10 years old I was at my best friend's house one afternoon and we got into a big fight. We were standing in angry and awkward silence when the sound of this theme song came on from the next room. He said "do you wanna watch the Edison Twins?" So I said yes and we ran to watch it, instantly friends again.

  • Wow, I haven't seen this in a long long time

  • Oh my good lord, this is so horrible. Nostalgia makes you like some weird shit.

  • The theme song is actually pretty good. Wow, Canadian shows were pretty good in the 80's. Now they're kind of a joke.

  • @blaynestaleypro Yeah, the 80s were a great time to be a kid in Canada, at least as far as TV was concerned. I've got very fond memories of these shows!!

  • @blaynestaleypro "Now they're kind of a joke"? Not sure about you but I think Flashpoint is a great show! It's one of the reasons CBS has picked it up in the US...

  • @Phantomm309 The picked it up because of the writers strike.

  • Corey Haim debuted in this

  • If she gives you head you'll always win?

    Wow.

  • @skanemermaid No it's "And if you use your head you'll always win

  • Wahhh????? OH MY GOD.....I HAVE GONE BACK IN TIME!!!!!! Seriously though, I loved this show when I was a kid!!!

  • I had completely forgotten that I used to watch this when I was 5. My face has a big nostalgic smile on it :)

  • Does anyone else find it ironic that Annie is played by a girl with the last name McPhail?

  • thumbs up if here cause of gone riffin'

  • Haha so oldschool.

  • I'd forgotten about this!!!

  • OMG I totally forgot about this but it all just came back to me now thank God for youtube!

  • I remember an episode of the Edison Twins where one of their friends got involved in a get rich quick investment scheme and was trying to get the cash together to buy into it. Anyhow it turned out to be a pyramid scam (ponzi scheme) and the cops shut down the investment firm selling it. In any event they explained what a pyramid scam was and why it can't work since it relies on geometric growth, each new investor needs to bring in two friends. Maybe more people should have watched this program?

  • Canadian?

  • @thoughtfuldave You guessed'er, Chester!

  • This show used to be on Disney Channel, before they started putting on the minstrel shows they have on the Disney Channel now.

  • Don't ever try and watch these shows again it will ruin the memory. Trust me. Except of course Dr. Snuggles. That show is better now that Im an adult.

  • Once this song gets stuck in your head it's never really NOT stuck in your head ever again.

  • hey is the edison twins run a radio show?

  • Danger Bay, Edison Twins... Why is it all the good 80s kids shows are Canadian?

  • @BeckAtsila Not to mention You Can't Do That on Television.... my favorite 80's kids show of them all!

  • i just got a boner

  • how can we get the edison twins released on dvd.

  • This is a great concept so powerful....promoting brains over brawn. I don't think these shows today have this substance.

  • is this a canadian show???

I remember ths. The little brother is funny.

  • @jorgencream It's Canadian. I used to watch it all the time on CBC as a youngster.

  • This is the first time I hear the lyrics of this song. We had The Edison Twins in Italy but the title song was without word, only bass and vocals saying "Aah ahh ahh uoh uoh uoh"...

ITA: Questa è la prima volta che ascolto il testo di questa sigla! In Italia c'era solo la base senza parole.

  • OMG I remembered the music but not the show o.o wow

  • Thank god I grew up close enough to the Canadian border to have watched this show... and especially the mighty mighty "Mr. Dressup."

  • McPhail... lol...

  • i had a major crush on annie

  • I still find myself singing this theme!! Very catchy.

  • Gosh, how different was TV back in the 80s!! And I had no idea that both this show and Danger Bay were Canadian!!

  • haha man, thats some hard core nostalgia right there..

would love to see an episode again. I bet its lame.

I recently saw the Peanut butter Solution again... that was hilarious ..remember that one?

  • the edison?

  • God I remember that. We had a french canadian version called "Tom et les jumeaux" (Tom and the twins).

  • Bob Segarini did the theme song. Does anyone remember his Goodbye L.A. album...?

This was an OK show, and I watched it as a teenager, but frankly I thought a similar show, The Adventures of Shirley Holmes, was much more sophisticated and mature 10 to 15 years later. That's surprising, given the crap that's been airing since the mid '90s.

  • Omg I used to love this show. No idea why ha ha, but then again I also loved Danger Bay and The Littlest Hobo so I just had all around bad taste in TV lol.

  • @cornnog That sounds like good taste to me.I also liked Beachcombers,Wayne and Shuster,Degrasi Street and pretty much all the old Canadian shows.(Super Granny was cool too).

  • Marnie McPhail has turned into a bit of a hottie since then. Plus she pops up in the oddest places - like that Star Trek First Contact movie (one of the first on the ship to be caught and assimilated in the movie).

  • I thought the same thing.

  • Wow this bring back memories.

  • omg i forgot about this show!!! sad that i didn't recall it until reading the news about Haim

  • rip corey....

  • a Canadian classic from my childhood :D.

  • i'm 35, from Malaysia, i know this series when i'm child...what a memories..day without any tech. gadget...computer?mobile phone?internet?..whats that..?hahaha

  • Had the good fortune of being on the tom green show a few times, but would kill H G Wells to be on this show!!!!!

As Djewok46 said perfectly... "Oh the memories!!!"

Damn! this is happiness to me :D

  • WTF is this??

  • Before your time no Doubt. Whoa....Just had an 80's flashback......

  • Nope, I'm 35, just never seen this before

  • Well this used to come on CBC, so maybe you just werent watching that station.

  • oh the memories! I had a huge crush on Annie!!! good times, good times....

  • great memories champ.........

  • Oh whoa, this takes me back! Wasn't it TV02 with Dr. Snuggles, Jeremy the bear and Today's Special...ah those were the days.

  • awesome, haven't seen this in a long long time...

  • I haven't seen this show in 26 yrs...dam time flys...catchy tune..

  • crashoveron.. lol thats not true not everything we have ever done sucks.. dont forget about Kenny VS Spenny, & the Tom Green Show (before he started making movies)

  • why?? i liked this very much... Lol

  • Heard about this show. Is it showing anywhere?

  • A staple of canadian TV in the 80s, I have to admit the theme is catchy yet cheesy.

  • memory flashback overload. I think I'll go puke now. I bet sunny benson thrasher had a great career.

  • I met Marnie McPhail years later and she seemed surprised that I remembered the show.

  • OMG I usedto lovethis show!!!!!!

  • me too

  • whoa completely forgot about this show. It's amazing how much an old theme song like this can bring back a rush of long buried memories. Thanks for posting.

  • Ah, yes. Long-buried memories....

    "Daddy, no!"

  • I like 0:10 when the normal child trips. This show is truly a matter of patriotric growth in Canada. This show was a highlight to learning and logic to many kids. and I wish it was still on to teach kids science. It seemed so much easier back then to earn a life.

    Fuck i'm nostalgic.

  • I think this concept could work again in this day and age... look at Mythbusters. Package knowledge in an entertaining way, and success is yours.

  • mist of the comments on this talkback are lewd, and I'm not even a christian. But I thought there was an certain innocence and non-sectarian tone to the original show that was very wholsome.

They were live McGyver in that they deduced scientifically things, which is very thought provoking to children.

This show should be resurrected for kids. it was great.

  • It seems like in Spain I am the only one who remembers this great show!

  • thanks for sharing the video

great show, but where were the parents in this show?

  • I think the parents were in L.A making porn

  • i remember looking at a hustler magazine in the 80s and there was a guy who looked like andrew sabiston it always made me laugh hey that gigolo is doing a science show

  • this catchy little ditty i used to listen to in high school

it still didn't make me pursue a career in science but I guess it should have hahahaa

  • thats mi nameeeeee

  • And some official dvd releases!!!

  • I'd love if someone would post the episode where they help a friend of their winning a swiming competition.

  • If no one can provide a means of illegally gaining access to this show via the normal channels, I'm storming the CBC for this.

  • omg!!! i just remembered this lol

  • thanks Annie (Marnie) for introducing me to Lewis Carroll.

  • if you use your head you'll always win.

    that's a pretty powerful message.

  • @fearhasaglare That's what i just told my brother, wow, that's weird!

  • @fearhasaglare , I agree that is a powerfull message. it was a great show..what good memories it was.

  • id love to see an episode of this again.

  • @kidkartoon77 They have it on amazon video on demand but you have to live in the united states to view it.

  • I guess this must be one of the influences that made me end up in medicine. Science rules! hahaha I miss the 80's too guys

  • How epic was that whistle solo?

    God I miss this show!

  • Oh, I loved this show so much back in the day.

Current TV just doesn't match up to TV shows back then.

  • Oh man! 0:14.. BEST!

  • Lol... sicko!

  • Fuck yes.

  • Brilliant!

  • I remember the episode when the one slips on some wet rocks and hits his head, i was always scared that would happen to me.

  • I loved his afro!!!

  • catchy ditty blast from the past

  • This is so 80's Canadian TV. Sunday afternoon viewing!

  • The only episode i can remember is that damn taranchula one. I can remember it crawling up over some banners in a store.

  • give it up for canada!

  • I am embarrassed to admit it but i did watch and liked this show...lol

  • HA HA! Paul always used to screw things up for them. They should have just kicked his ass.

  • I believe they played this on the Disney channel back in the 80's. At least that's what I remember.

  • Thanks so much for posting!!

All I really remember of this show is the opening credits and didn't even recall the song! What a trip down memory lane!! Hopefully this will hit DVD someday!!

  • Epic show! Does anyone have the early seasons on DVD?

  • Nobody does-pester Nelvana/Corus to put it on DVD.

  • I loved watching this show as a kid. Do you have any clips from the show? The theme song is great!

  • love the reply, hooperxxx. :))

  • I grew up in South Africa and watched this show religiously.

  • I live in Texas and saw this show when I was younger. So, it was not just in Canada or close to the border.

  • Awesome to see that intro :) I always loved it.

  • What about people who grew up in Canada?

  • I loved this show...so many episodes ..."guy stealing from the space show used ultra violet light to identify him.....by coating the box of props with ultraviolet paint"....or what about the episode with the dog nappers.....and they were stealing dogs and they set up a sting but the van had mud on the plates........LOL i love it

  • this was the height of graphics effects... photos and colour pencils hehehehe... how much it has changed!!!

  • HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHOOOHAAAA I remember this show The Edison Twins the stupid idiots holy shit I'm baked, but I used to watch this when I was a kid back east.

  • Damn! I haven't seen that in years! Thanks for posting.

  • I watched this. But they were such geeks.

  • Man I used to love this show..

  • people in halifax say "oat".

  • That figures, I am a denizen of the West Coast and therefore sheltered from all this Canadian culture, lol.

  • haha thats cool. I think everyone says 'eh' and i even dated a girl from PA, that made fun of the way i said out and about. its not quite exaggerated as oot and aboot, but it does differ from the way people from the states say it.

  • This song was stuck in my head the night before going into the 6th grade...to the point that I only slept 2 hours that night.

  • I haven't seen this show in ages, I suddenly remembered the name and decided to look it up here

  • This show was VERY Canadian. People said things like "eh" and "oot and aboot". It was fun to watch, though.

  • I've lived in Canada for all of my 27 years and have never heard a Canadian say oot or oboot once unless it was in jest; where in Canada have you heard it?

  • London, Ontario

  • no way i'm from london, and i don't say that. lol.

  • Maybe you haven't been oot and aboot much, eh?

  • They used to show this on the Disney Channel back in the 80's

    Good times.

  • wow, incredible, awesome, I remember watching this here in Chile, I think channel 13 aired it. But in the Spanish-dubbed version the opening is in instrumental version (as a karaoke ;) )

Another show I remember from that time is "Animals, animals, animals"

(wow, increible, lo veia aqui en Chile, pero la version en español es instrumental.)

  • Do you have the intro to Annie and Tom's College days? I loved that intro almost as much as I loved this one.

  • Now everyday is

    a different trial

    and they pull

    through with a lot

    of style

    always getting out

    of trouble

    that they get in

    Life with the Eddison Tiwns

  • And if you use your head you'll always win you know the Edison Twins Oh no two days are quite the same life is just a learning game and if you use your head you'll always win just like the Edison Twins
  • Just a bunch of kids

    trying to do

    what they should

    growing up in

    their neighbourhood

    Oh they've

    been up the street

    and down again

    They're called

    The Eddison Twins.

  • Now everyday is

    a different trial

    and they pull

    through with a lot

    of style

    always getting out

  • Paul grew up to one day bang my wife

  • Had such a crush on Annie, and what a great show!!! thanks TLOC322

  • I loved this show!!! I wish I could find the episodes to watch

  • Corey Haim was on this show, for your information.

  • Guess I was too young to appreciate this show :( Didn't take to it, but then I didn't like anything on TV if it wasn't a cartoon back then :P

  • I remember one episode where they go play bowling and using some sunglasses and chalks finds out that the lane is not flat. And they request to switch lane and they got...lane '13'!

  • Loved this show when i was a kid!!! THanks for posting it!

  • I used to watch thta show back in the eightiews that cam on after Degrassi Jr High. Very educational show.
