That's gotta be hard on the Self Esteem; you have the genius twins, and then the younger brother just gets the shit end of the Genetic stick and blunders everything up.
When I was about 10 years old I was at my best friend's house one afternoon and we got into a big fight. We were standing in angry and awkward silence when the sound of this theme song came on from the next room. He said "do you wanna watch the Edison Twins?" So I said yes and we ran to watch it, instantly friends again.
@blaynestaleypro Yeah, the 80s were a great time to be a kid in Canada, at least as far as TV was concerned. I've got very fond memories of these shows!!
@blaynestaleypro "Now they're kind of a joke"? Not sure about you but I think Flashpoint is a great show! It's one of the reasons CBS has picked it up in the US...
I remember an episode of the Edison Twins where one of their friends got involved in a get rich quick investment scheme and was trying to get the cash together to buy into it. Anyhow it turned out to be a pyramid scam (ponzi scheme) and the cops shut down the investment firm selling it. In any event they explained what a pyramid scam was and why it can't work since it relies on geometric growth, each new investor needs to bring in two friends. Maybe more people should have watched this program?
Don't ever try and watch these shows again it will ruin the memory. Trust me. Except of course Dr. Snuggles. That show is better now that Im an adult.
This is the first time I hear the lyrics of this song. We had The Edison Twins in Italy but the title song was without word, only bass and vocals saying "Aah ahh ahh uoh uoh uoh"...
ITA: Questa è la prima volta che ascolto il testo di questa sigla! In Italia c'era solo la base senza parole.
Bob Segarini did the theme song. Does anyone remember his Goodbye L.A. album...?
This was an OK show, and I watched it as a teenager, but frankly I thought a similar show, The Adventures of Shirley Holmes, was much more sophisticated and mature 10 to 15 years later. That's surprising, given the crap that's been airing since the mid '90s.
Omg I used to love this show. No idea why ha ha, but then again I also loved Danger Bay and The Littlest Hobo so I just had all around bad taste in TV lol.
@cornnog That sounds like good taste to me.I also liked Beachcombers,Wayne and Shuster,Degrasi Street and pretty much all the old Canadian shows.(Super Granny was cool too).
Marnie McPhail has turned into a bit of a hottie since then. Plus she pops up in the oddest places - like that Star Trek First Contact movie (one of the first on the ship to be caught and assimilated in the movie).
i'm 35, from Malaysia, i know this series when i'm child...what a memories..day without any tech. gadget...computer?mobile phone?internet?..whats that..?hahaha
crashoveron.. lol thats not true not everything we have ever done sucks.. dont forget about Kenny VS Spenny, & the Tom Green Show (before he started making movies)
whoa completely forgot about this show. It's amazing how much an old theme song like this can bring back a rush of long buried memories. Thanks for posting.
I like 0:10 when the normal child trips. This show is truly a matter of patriotric growth in Canada. This show was a highlight to learning and logic to many kids. and I wish it was still on to teach kids science. It seemed so much easier back then to earn a life.
mist of the comments on this talkback are lewd, and I'm not even a christian. But I thought there was an certain innocence and non-sectarian tone to the original show that was very wholsome.
They were live McGyver in that they deduced scientifically things, which is very thought provoking to children.
This show should be resurrected for kids. it was great.
i remember looking at a hustler magazine in the 80s and there was a guy who looked like andrew sabiston it always made me laugh hey that gigolo is doing a science show

I remember this show from back in the day. It sucked! Especially that little bastard, Sunny Besen-Thrasher. I DID want to fuck Marnie McPhail, though. Until she got older and all gross. You may have seen her in Star Trek Generations, which also sucked.
I loved this show...so many episodes ..."guy stealing from the space show used ultra violet light to identify him.....by coating the box of props with ultraviolet paint"....or what about the episode with the dog nappers.....and they were stealing dogs and they set up a sting but the van had mud on the plates........LOL i love it
HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHOOOHAAAA I remember this show The Edison Twins the stupid idiots holy shit I'm baked, but I used to watch this when I was a kid back east.
haha thats cool. I think everyone says 'eh' and i even dated a girl from PA, that made fun of the way i said out and about. its not quite exaggerated as oot and aboot, but it does differ from the way people from the states say it.
I've lived in Canada for all of my 27 years and have never heard a Canadian say oot or oboot once unless it was in jest; where in Canada have you heard it?
wow, incredible, awesome, I remember watching this here in Chile, I think channel 13 aired it. But in the Spanish-dubbed version the opening is in instrumental version (as a karaoke ;) )
Another show I remember from that time is "Animals, animals, animals"
(wow, increible, lo veia aqui en Chile, pero la version en español es instrumental.)
And if you use your head you'll always win you know the Edison Twins Oh no two days are quite the same life is just a learning game and if you use your head you'll always win just like the Edison Twins
I remember one episode where they go play bowling and using some sunglasses and chalks finds out that the lane is not flat. And they request to switch lane and they got...lane '13'!
no offence to anyone, but the first verse is different from the time I first heard this song, even a different singer did this.
