You dont seem to be too much up on your history. The Crusades were not mass murders in cold blood. Jerusalem, Damascus and Acre were originally Christian and Jewish lands that the Muslims invaded. The Christians took up arms to retake the holy lands from the islamic invaders. That is not a mass killing. It was a defence of their lands from invaders. Atrocities were commited on both sides. But thats war. The Iraq war cannot be compared to the crusades on lives lost and why.

Britain and America own 35% of the oil fields while Iraq themselves only own 25%. I cannot think of another sensible reason why we attacked Iraq. No nukes. Saddam was indeed a cruel leader but there are plenty more in the world equally as bad, if not worse. The world economy is built on oil. The more you control, the more influence you have.
