Whats so hot about DK. nothing. whats very good about him is he knows how to run a rugby team. EG bringing in world class coaching staff from the off. Gert small, les kiss, Alen Gaffney. Murphy was just an example of how eddie ignored lots of players and set us back along way. and even still he had a great bunch of players and won nothing. the trip crown... well ask a french man what the triple crown is and he wont care a toss.

As far as Murphy v´s Girv. they were totally different players and much like DK is doing now you would choose not only on form but on what they bring in a certain situation EG Girv at 15 against France. But GM for a wales match.

Eddie's a bit of a contradiction, in that he brought us forward during the Golden Generation, but managed to avoid the greatest honours, and also he set us back so far by selecting players based on which country they played in and his terrible provincial Corkonian bias didn't help.

Overall I'd have to say he set us back by underachieving with a world-class team, while governing his decisions on parish pump wankery. And he should fuck off.

@79lion79 Hi mate... I was specifically referring to his treatment of Leo Cullen and Bob Casey, who were denied their caps because they chose to play in England. Casey's treatment at London Irish led directly to L.I. Geraghty, Danaher and Banahan all declaring for England on the off-chance of getting into their 1st 15, even though they have 12 times our resources. They thought it was better to go for the off-chance of breaking in there than waiting for a call that would never come from Ireland.

And poor old David Humphreys who looked over time and time again when he was by far the better choice as a player than the young O'Gara. Murphy under eddie osullivan was capped over 30 times. usually from the bench and only ever thats EVER!!! started 3 games thats 3 times thats 3 caps at Fullback, His best position.

Eddie had his favorites his golden 15 and Murphy was just cover. Murphy has had some shocking games for ireland because EOS would sub him on at wing or even at center.

EOS was a fool and treated Murphy very badly.

You're a thick cunt if you don't think EOS was a good coach. Stayed a year too long? Maybe but he did a hell of alot for Irish rugby. Had Stephen Jones' peno gone two more metres Ireland wouldn't have won the GS, had Vincent Clerc not scored in the last play of the game in 07 we'd have been GS champions.
