Should have kept the haunted house the same and built like a sci fi duel in the x sector. The original was better for kids because the 'scary' things were the attraction, now everyone just concentrates on shooting and kid's probably don't even think about then witches, and creepy child catcher guy. I'm also furious that they changed the katanga canyon and towers street themes, put be in charge of the park and i'll return it to the glory days!

@TheWhiteKnight89 its all Merlin, their ruining the park piece by piece, they were also the ones who removed the Corkscrew, a classic coaster, for TH13TEEN,a crap coaster.

:D! the haunted house in alton towers is my favourite place to be on the planet - anyone would want to be in like spain or florida - not me, id wana go round duel 10 times xD

@Chalice1017 it's weird, i went on it over and over again the weekend i was at alton towers and it never seemed to get boring - then over the last 2 years or so ive had at least 3 dreams about the place xD

you could try HauntedOne, its a website based on Alton Towers' Haunted House. They have some good media and related stuff. Thats where i get my downloads from.

I remember going on this ride back in 1993. Bloody amazing atmosphere once you stepped into the house. Hearing this has brought back memories and a nice chill down my spine.

Fantastic music and the theming of the queue line was amazing. The pictures, the floor, the dolls house all amazing. They should have just turned it into somewhere with live actors.

I remember when I first went on this ride when I was about four - I was so scared - shut my eyes right from start to finish!

I faced my fears when I went back in 2002 - the very last year before they turned it into Duel - and I loved the nostalgia of the old Haunted House. I, too, wish it would return!

Couldn't agree more. They stopped the stupid 'laser shooting' over the scarefest and the queue wound round the whole graveyard, they should take the hint.

Sadly, the Scarefest haunted house is only popular because of the real actors they use as part of the haunt - a cost they wouldn't want full time.

Duel is really crap now in 2008 there isn't as much as there used 2 be in the Haunted House i also dont like the guns but it ok pretty cool in the queue, no 1 goes on it now lol

Agree.

The Haunted House was amazing, then Towers wrecked the ride by taking most of the cool stuff out and replacing it with green dots (yea great) and a tedious light gun game.

I wish they would return it to it's former glory. It was a feast for the eyes.
