Do you have the front plastic pieces off all the time, or just for the speed test? My Vino gets bogged down like crazy when there is wind..and it's really windy here.
Booooo. Way to loud for me. I did 47mm ruima bore, yms none expansion pipe, 5.5 gram rollers, stock carb, stock airbox, 72 main, 48pilot, Vino 90 belt, hit 60mph all day long. Doesnt even make a sound super quiet not loud junk...
Im thinking about buying a 2003 Zuma with 1100miles on it and putting a 70cc kit on it. I noticed your previous comment about modding it and being able to keep up reliability. How does one do this? Thanks!!!
Yes the very much affect reliability as well as gas mileage. Lots of aftermarket parts can be tuned to run reliably, but not many people take the time to learn how to tune properly so they end up blowing up. Mine just rolled 1500 on the new 70cc. I took my electric start out on my own
How hard was that up-gear install, who'd you get it from?
I just modded my '03 Vino a little: pipe, variator, clutch springs. 49mph on the first run with rocket acceleration even with all 240# of me on it!! I'm gonna try an up-gear next.
Damn that 2 stroke whine is annoying as hell. I'm stil glad I own a lazy 50cc 4 stroke Yamaha C3 it's quiet hell even with a louder aftermarket exhaust it still wouldn't sound like someone spittiing "rasberries" into a tin can. My C3 will go close to 45 stock. With transmission mods I could go to 50mph which is good enough for something with drum brakes. Or I could get a GY6 150cc engine swap from ks power sports.
I ride the same bike ,I love it than my car!

Get a Polini Big Evo (94cc) with matching crankshaft, exhaust etc and you will be doing somewhere around 85/90 mph (140/150kmh)

A Vino 125 does 62 mph and you don't need to do a thing to it.

what about reliability? do those mods affect the reliability at all? also will the electric start still work?

That is mostly intake noise from what mine sounded like with a race filter on it. Very fast I like it a lot.

The upgear install wasnt hard, just getting the gear pressed on to the shaft was the tricky part.

I love it. Did you put in a 70cc kit, an upgear kit, a new pipe, 19mm carb and different roller weights ? I used to have a zuma but I sold it.
