ADA is Useless because the Ada only allows for injunctive relief not damages. Plus, universities, businesses, etc.. can still legally discriminate if their discrimination against a disabled person is reasonable.
I've always liked George H.W. Bush. The ADA was signed into law 21 years ago. I'm glad a bonafide Republican President signed this important piece of legislation into law. God bless you, George H.W. Bush! You, like Ronald Reagan before you, are a true American!
@ChihuahuaboyDH Actually rumors are HWBush wanted to veto the ADA. read my blog about it: ivys2cents DOT blogspot DOT com/2008/10/over-50mil-disabled-lot-of-votes-to DOT html
Happy 20th Anniversary of the signing of the ADA!!! In honor of this momentous day I have edited together a short video about this event. You can catch it in the 'Video Responses' section. Enjoy!
Thank you for posting this! In Reverend Harold Wilke's invocation (possibly a first at a Presidential signing?) I love how he says (at1:18) "...whom we call by many names...the Father of Abraham, Issac and Jacob; and also Sarah, Rebecca, and Ruth..."
