When it comes to lighting I stick to natural light, I will sit at the window and do the video :) My camera is a Flip Ultra 4GB and I love it ^^ Sure, it's not HD but it does the job =)

I've got 3 looks up and I am working on more. I love what I'm doing, it's fun ^^ I've not been doing this long but it's enjoyable =) I try and upload every 1 (or 2, if i am busy) weeks

Also, the way they speak and present themselves effects the whole video. I have seen a lot of tutorials where the girls just look uninterested in filming, their voice is so monotone, etc.

Some other small things that I notice when I'm looking around at other newbie beauty gurus: -For tutorials, keep the introduction short and sweet. I hate clicking on a tutorial that looks pretty but end up having to sit for a long time while they just... talk. Any intro over 1 minute bores me and I just exit it. Also, for tutorial videos, the thumbnail picture for the video. I want to see a picture of the finished look, not a picture of them mid-way into applying the makeup -_-

Another tip: if you're using text on the screen (in case you're shy, don't like to talk) make sure it's 1. Not in a funky font. 2. Not some random color that's hard to see. Watch your video after editing. Over. And over. With different colors. Brighter isn't better. 3. Make it big enough. :l

My biggest gripe with some gurus has been poor audio quality. As much as I love to watch these people, I find myself skipping over their videos on my feed because i know that no matter how high I turn up my laptop volume, I won't be able to hear or understand them clearly, and most times, it's not worth the frustration. I never leave negative comments, therefore don't want to come accross that way if I were to comment on these gurus pages :0(

Great video! What kind of bulbs do you use for your lighting? I have that same lamp, but I feel like my bulbs make me look a bit yellow even though they're supposed to resemble natural light.

there are 2 kinds of bulbs.....the one is the cool light...the other is warm light

so u should choose the cool light bulbs cause it's more simmilar to the day light.

The warm light will give you that yellow though :D

I am using 2 lights from IKEA with 2 bulbs cool light hope this helped :D
