THANK YOU for your feedback, and the wonderful contacts we have linked up with from the launching of the last two teasers! It has been incredible to be able to talk and listen to so many with the same love and passion for this genre of music! I know everyone wants to see this film show what they believe to be jungle or junglist and we shall do our best. The teaser has fulfilled it's purpose on what we are going for, and that is to be unbiased and get as much info from legit contacts as possible.
I can't help but recognize the misconceptions here. Real JUNGLIST don't wear fish net panties. In fact, we usually don't even tend to allow these goo-goo ho's on our stage. The stage is set up for none other than "The Dj" god forbid. As a veteran junglist/dnb Dj I can't help but feel like this documentary is going to be geared more toward the new-school......
@TheStarrskye This documentary is not a conceptual "to what you believe personally is a junglist" movie. The unbelieveable fact remains that we were filming at actual jungle parties, as big name jungle and drum and bass dj's were reppin the latest sickest dnb they got, when these beautiful girls actually WERE on stage ;) Unfortunately we can not time travel to capture the past for you but we will document the current scene and cover history as best as possible #past-present-future
@TheAmericanJungle Not trying to be a clown, but I heard quite a bit of drumstep/dubstep, or whatever the fuck you wanna call it. I realize a lot of cats are using drumstep breaks in their tunes, but I was just expecting more JUNGLE, brah.
@thedjartillery It is just the teaser, we still have along year ahead of us and a lot of cities to film in. It is our goal to show the North American Drum & Bass/Jungle scene and ALL its diversity, from the massives to dive bars, artist to the fan, raga to drumstep, and coast to coast. Our whole film crew consist of old school junglist, artist, and dj's with 10+ years in the scene. We apologize to all who are concerned about the use of drumstep in this teaser, but it is inevitably a part of DNB.
@stereomj Hey thanks for taking a look at the teaser. This is just a teaser to the full featured documentary, If you read the summery below the video I'm sure your question will be answered. The reason these things are not included is because we have not formally filmed anything for the actual movie/documetary. Filming begins soon and includes a tour RV hitting up over 35 cities in order to uncover the history, roots and drive of the American Drum and Bass scene.
@stereomj on a side note we are def in contact with Konkrete Jungle, Gridlock, Hive, Deiselboy, AK1200, Terravita... etc... The main producers of the film are veterans of the DnB scene with 12+ years experience promoting Drum in Bass, mostly in the Denver area, and with the limited budget available to shoot I think it's easy to see why the teaser has most of it's footage from there. Knoxville is showcased as an example for a smaller city with the same drive and love for the music
something we plan to cover is how dnb has spread across from city to city and how it still thrives and even flourishes. Sorry if you like many have confused this for excerpts from the actual finished product. Also we are still looking for info in diff local scenes so we can have the most unbiased view possible. That is why we have the info at the end of the teaser.
dosent sound like theres any jungle in it to be honest, sounds like horrible wub wub dnb.. altho always keen to learn about the scene in different countries so look forward to seeing the full length.
Also, MUCH RESPECT goes out to my SoCal producers, Drum & Bass heads and supporters. Respect and Bassrush/Insomniac gets major props and should definitely be highlighted for your documentary.
I think you guys did a great job on the trailer and it feels good knowing that a crew will be putting together a documentary on the North American Drum & Bass community in 2012. I hope you make a stop in the San Francisco Bay Area and visit Shelter, Stamina Sundays and Dystopia. The Bay Area has some great producers: Gridlok, Bachelors of Science, Method One, Juju, 2Cents (Aye-N and Mal), Lukeino, Kiro, 59Crime and Cenobites (Kompressah & Doja) are all residing in SF and the East Bay.
Good job on the edits Jeremy the trailers looks great. I know that I am looking forward to finally being able to commit to this film 100 percent & get on the road to tell the story on North American DnB. I know for myself the trailers & videos the production crew has shot has taken numerous hours & scraping forward whatever funds to get to this point. We still have allot of story to complete & need the support on the DnB community to get it done.
We still have to go and film what is actually going to be in the finished film... we still will be traveling over 26,000 miles in an RV with a full FILM CREW and doing ALL this in a 6 month time span (its not cheap nor easy to get these funds). This is not just going to be another music doc, our goal is to put out a quality film about the scene we all LOVE. Making a film is not an easy project, nor is it an overnight process.
@DnbradioPromo hey seriously, is there an Onket or Phenetic interview in the film either? nope... listen to yourself. We obviously can't have everyone we want to in the trailer. Call me if you wanna talk
@DnbradioPromo geez, LOL! Someone is feeling feisty :) The movie is not about us missing dnb events we can't film or make it too. Do you think TAJ is omnipresent or something? Do you think there is time in a 4 minute trailer to dedicate to certain individuals? cause we are just trying to get the point across of history, love for the music, and how it's made it's point in the US for the teasers. There is a lot of work put into this. Wish you could just appreciate it for what it is.
@DnbradioPromo p.s. there is of footage of your shows and artists you booked in the trailer. Why complain openly on the comments of the new teaser like a hater? Professionalism is a goood thing, lets try it.
@DnbradioPromo LOL.. fine fair nuff go ahead and blog about it, deeply sorry everyone can't be included in the 4 min teaser, and we don't have unlimited funds to just travel and film on the spot. recon is the first thanks in the credits btw, I personally have always supported you in everything whether I agree with exactly what, or how your doing it, or not. Cause we all have benefit to gain be coming together for the love of DnB!!! Big Up dnbradio.com and Recon and the Shoebox!
Great Job on the trailer guys!!! Thank you for putting in the work so far, Let me know how I can continue to assist you in anyway, time to continue raising funds to get the final project complete! Love Respect and DnB in all its hybrids forevaaaaa!
As for drumstep vs. dubstep... @netskyyyyyy, @G9 just look em up, I've even gotten criticism for calling it drumstep in my mixes by drum and bass enthusiasts where they say it is just dnb. Good to see the information is already flowing for this educational documentary :) also search djphenetic on soundcloud for my mixes!
@camper... For the record... This is a teasa geeza, not the movie or actual documentary. There is no mention of A LOT of pioneers because this isn't the finished product(this must have been overlooked). We def plan on covering as many DnB pioneers as possible with the main film.
"No mention of ASC, Sinistarr, Gridlok, Calculon, Method One, Stunna, Mutt, and many others, and no Offshore Recordings, Warm Communications, or Breakbeat Science Recordings..."
@camper182 We still have a long way to go.. this teaser is there to get people thinking and we want to get everyone involved thats willing. We will be beginning our SHOOTING tour in March and traveling to every corner of the US & Canada to get the WHOLE story of drum & bass. Our whole crew has been a part of Drum & Bass / Jungle for at least 10+ years and we have been a part of the Film/Video world for a good 5+ years. We promise to do our best to include EVERYONE in our DIVERSE community.
@camper182 yeah I've been waiting for them to interview some real people too.. some of them live in their own town and they didn't take the time to interview them... First trailer was like that too...
@em2nomis obviously not coming from an intelligent source. Our scene is large, spread out, and dedicated. The US & Canada fell in love with the UK dnb sound, but we took it and made our own style culture out of it. The UK will always be the motherland for drum & bass, but there is something special here in North America too.
@G9Collective We used a couple of Drumstep tracks, not dubstep. IMHO... drumstep is quickly becoming an integral part of many drum & bass dj's & performers setlist. There is a lot of great opinions on drumstep & dubstep's role in the drum & bass scene. This is something that will definitely be touched on in the Final Film. Thanks for your opinion.
dubstep is gonna die off eventually. jungle / dnb is where its at! not dumbstep!!
