To Wii owner's Rock Band TWO is definately the way to go. It has everything the first game was missing, and more. Guitar Hero instruments DO work with Rock Band 2 for Wii, but not the other way around. There is 4-console online so you can get a real band together, there's a career mode that's WAY more in-depth than Guitar Hero, and will take over a year for even a gamer with no life to complete. :P There's also online tournaments, character creator, pretty good graphics, and tons of DLC.

The instruments aren't improved enough to be worth so much more money. If you have the rb1 instruments and they're in good shape, I'd say keep them. Plus, Guitar Hero instruments do work with RB2.
I'm not sure, because I sold it along with a bunch of old Gamecube games, so they only gave me the total price, not how much they paid for the individual games. And they only accepted the game and the mic. The guitar had a broken whammy and the drums they just weren't buying. (Which I'm glad they didn't buy because I ended up needing them for RB2)

You plug the guitar hub into your computer and there. Turn your guitar on and your guitar will be connected to your computer. I read somewhere that it did work with Frets on Fire with a patch or something like that.
Well I haven't tested it, and since I sold Rock Band Wii 1, I never can. But I wouldn't think it works. Maybe ask PatTheCow to make a video proving they work. If they do, great. :)

Well, I don't know, I just don't like the art style of WT at all, and to me the notes look wierd, especially the drum notes. There's something that attracts me to Rock Band rather than GHWT.

I think World Tour is better. They're very close though. World Tour has custom songs and Mii freestyle, while Rock Band 2 doesn't. Most websites rated World Tour the better choice. But Rock Band Wii 2 comes out on Tuesday, so maybe wait for a full review before you decide. But the majority of people say World Tour. =)
Rock Band 2 DOES have freestyle, in addition to the Drum/Fill Trainer that GHWT lacks. Also, I have never seen critic that rated GHWT higher than RB2.
The wii version of rockband 2 is going to be like the 360 and ps3 version, there will be online play and DLC there will be customization and band world tour.
DLC will have the new content as well as the old DLC the 360 and PS3 already has.
Both options will be available, but I'm not sure if they'll be released at the same time. I know the band game comes out December 16th. The standalone game might be the same day, might not be.
I recommend you get Guitar Hero World Tour instead, it's better in every way possible, just ask. And the guitar strum bar for Rock Band is really weird which makes you miss like every other note unless you pound on it with your whole hand. It sucks.

I don't know about that but it's possible. I have World Tour for Wii, and it is equal to the other versions. A lot of fun, good character creator, great online (there's even online career mode, with friends/strangers), and great song selection. :)

I said I'd show how the guitar connects which is the USB thing. :P To hook it up, just plug in the USB part in the back of the Wii, then press the On Switch on the back of the guitar. It should connect by itself from there.
Yes it does. Quite a few people have told me that theirs looks different. I'm not sure about that, but it should come with some sort of 4-port adapter.
Look carefully through the whole box, and maybe around it in case it fell out. If not, I recommend calling the store you bought it from and asking them about it.

There's a career similar to Guitar Hero 3, where you go down a setlist playing songs in a certain order by difficulty. But the only unlockable in the Wii version is more songs.

I've tested the guiar hero controller and I'll say this for the billionth time: THEY ARE NOT COMPATIBLE!!!! They are on PS3 and Xbox360, but NOT WII!!! I'm glad RB2 is compatible with RB1 instruments though.

Not on the Wii. On every other system, yes. But even official reviews say that it isn't. I've tested it, it doesn't work. Because the GH3 guitar has a Wii Remote in it and the RB guitar uses USB to connect.

You sadly can't choose your character. In fact, a video plays in the background while you play. There's one video for every song, so you'll see the same characters doing the same thing every time. So if one band member fails, their character will still be playing and excited and all that.
On the day I made this video, the guitar wasn't synched, so that's why I did so crappy. After synching the guitar, I've beaten every song on Expert, except Green Grass and High Tides.

I said I'd show how the guitar connects which is the USB thing. :P To hook it up, just plug in the USB part in the back of the Wii, then press the On Switch on the back of the guitar. It should connect by itself from there.

It comes with one guitar which can be used for either guitar or bass parts, which you choose in the game.

Yes it does. Quite a few people have told me that theirs looks different. I'm not sure about that, but it should come with some sort of 4-port adapter.

Look carefully through the whole box, and maybe around it in case it fell out. If not, I recommend calling the store you bought it from and asking them about it.

I know, and I agree. If I used my GH3 guitar I could play a lot better. Guitar Hero 4 is looking such better than Rock Band 2 (at least for Wii), but it's $200 cause I'd have to buy a whole bunch of instruments, on top of the ones I already have. Talk about taking up a lot of space....

It's good enough for me. Rock Band 2 for Wii is supposed to be as good as the PS3/Xbox versions, so that'll be good. And it'll only cost $50 cause I already have instruments.

There's a career similar to Guitar Hero 3, where you go down a setlist playing songs in a certain order by difficulty. But the only unlockable in the Wii version is more songs.

Yeah. No online play, No character-creator, only one pre-made movie for each song. No touring cities in World Tour Mode, guitar isn't as efficient, guitar hero controller isn't compatible.
But despite all that it's a good game, and it'll pay off when Rock Band 2 comes out, cause I don't need to buy more instruments.

Well if you mean create charactors, the answer is no. But you and up to 3 friends can still play Band Tour Mode, playing songs down the list like GH3.

Drum pads are rubber. It feels like rubber anyway. And yeah Rock band 2 is compatible with the same instruments as Rock Band. Why do you have a guitar hero controller? And yes the Guitar Hero controller is compatible with Rock band. Read it online. Just saying. No offense inteneded

I've tested the guiar hero controller and I'll say this for the billionth time: THEY ARE NOT COMPATIBLE!!!! They are on PS3 and Xbox360, but NOT WII!!! I'm glad RB2 is compatible with RB1 instruments though.

This is a cool video, I also got RB for Wii on the 22nd. Are you getting RB 2 aswell? It's gonna be "better" than this one, which apparently means downloads, so let's keep our fingers crossed.
I remember first getting into the songlist and barely tapping the green which caused it to start playing the first song.
...I 4 starred it because I tried back and forth strumming, which was a mistake at first...

My guitar wasn't calibrated when I made this video so my playing sucked. but now it's calibrated and I can play any song on Expert except Green Grass and High Tides, which I can reach 80% on. About Rock Band 2, I'll probably get it if it's compatible with the Rock Band 1 instruments. Cause I'm not paying $200 more for it, I'll tell you that now. :-P

Yeah, every song has one prerecorded video. But when you're playing, it doesn't matter too much since you're focused on the notes.

Not on the Wii. On every other system, yes. But even official reviews say that it isn't. I've tested it, it doesn't work. Because the GH3 guitar has a Wii Remote in it and the RB guitar uses USB to connect.

You sadly can't choose your character. In fact, a video plays in the background while you play. There's one video for every song, so you'll see the same characters doing the same thing every time. So if one band member fails, their character will still be playing and excited and all that.
