GM kan suck my .... they only bought saab to shut it down.. because saab is the only manufacturer in the world who took 25-33 % clients from GM, chevrolette, buick and ford for almost 15 years.. saab alone is the only manufacturer which GM is afraid of. It really became "the power of the future" in Saab timeline. And only in the few last years we have seen other brands making turbo engines for the fuel eficiency goal. Some brands used to make a "sport" version of a car, or in highest performance cars....
Saab 99 turbo might be the most important car in the world refering to technology employed by the number of followers. I have driven one of those turbos and that was (hand on heart) one the most exhilarating moments of my life, refering to cars in general :)
I have a black 1990 Saab 900 Turbo 16valve and i absolutely love it. I would never buy any other car than a Saab! My dream car also, is a black 99 Turbo like this one.
Imagine that this was in 1978, now 30 years laters there is talk about BMW going all-turbo... The Saab engineer new exactly what he was talking when saying that in the future emission and fuel economy requirements would make turbo the viable choice over larger engines.
So true. SAAB was so advanced. It's such a shame to see them in the state they are right now. They deserve much better, considering they paved they way for the entire auto industry in safety, performance, reliability, EVERYTHING!
