yeah I tend to agree, just a massive range. Jeff is a very good singer, but he's at a 'Gary Cherone' level. Good enough, but not outstanding the way Queen songs deserve on a proper tour..

@MsMercury They wouldn't use Jeff after he done the Journey thing. Shame as he is better than Paul but he shot himself in the foot doing Journey, Then they fired him. Ironic.

@rmtdrums Well I was refering to something Jeff told me way before the Journey gig. Why wouldn't they use him after he did the Journey gig? What would that have to do with it? Journey was stupid for firing him. They essentially wanted a Steve Perry soundalike.

@MsMercury They were worried about Jeff being a cast off. Basically saying, if he's not good enough for Journey then he's no way going to stand up to the scrutiny of singing for Queen. Which I think is a shame. There's lots that goes on between record companies and agents that have an effect on Queens legacy and record sales. Hence the Adam Lambert rumour. Quenn + Paul R on the other hand was like a legend + legend = Record sales & revenue. That's the music business.

@MsMercury I think Jeff would have been the perfect choice for the "reformed" Queen but I think they chose Paul Rodgers simply because he's commercially a bigger name. It's a shame because Jeff would have been so much better.
