Everyone is too busy comparing artists (some of which even play completely different styles of music) when we should all just accept them for what they are, Great Musicians. All the guitarists Ive seen mentioned here arent even that god-like. Hammet and Slash are good, but they are NOT guitar gods. An example of a Guitar God would be Tommy Emanuelle, Steve Vai, Malmsteen, Petrucci, frusciante.  Any of these are good examples. Personally, I agree with reaper666, Page is the best.
