But in germany we have around EUR 0.80 (USD 0.63) taxes on a litre fuel. A big part of that tax is the economy-tax which was intrioduced in 1999 to germany by the green people =/

Cars here are 300% tax by our government anyway, reason being so is to protect our local car manufacturer from superior car makers like VW audi, merc BMW and other jap cars.. @buchi3100 it feels great, but with such a small engine it's not so much fun because fromm 200kph there isn't so much acceleration anymore. Ek9's are no cars for topspeed, they're more for cornering etc ;)

Reving like that on a stock engine does it no good, Unless the ECU is mapped it makes no difference, just lower vtec engagement and higher rev limit which damages the engine. I have an EK9 and it came with a spoon ECU, didn't like the rev limit that high so switched to stock, it has a lightened flywheel, Fujitsubo exhaust and DC mani, just done a reset on the standard ECU to calibrate new air flow and its so much better than spoon. Just learn to change quick enough to stay in VTEC :)

@Ne1170 it actually revs till real 9100 revs. Honda says that the b16b can rev till 9500 without problems. We checked that engine after ~ 50.000km with the spoon ecu and it still looked very very good for a over 200.000km old engine.

Shifting is no prob, but i don't like the standart ecu very much in comparisson with the spoon. It feels weaker than with the spoon.

Also the fuel-comsuption with the spoon is lower.

But I wouldn't buy the ecu new for over 500bucks... overpriced...

@vizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz it has a different map. As far as I know it's programmed for Spoon Engineparts. It sets the vtecpoint down to ~5500rpm (oem 6200) and increases the revlimit to real 9100rpm.

Can't disribe it, it feels more powerful all over the revs and the fuelcomsumption is lower.

Depends how you drive.Depends what motor you have,what shape the motor is in.their is alot of factors that come into play.if everything is running tip-top and you keep it properly maintained.it will go for a long time.I am running an EF Si hatch as a daily driver and it's got 340,000km/s on it.and i still drive it hard.Still runs great.

yep! Did with mine the 200.000km... only thing that have be done is the rear enginemount and other small things like timingbelt etc... that's all!

No oil consumption while driving normal, no strange sounds, no problems :)

don't know, think that it's the original ek9 final. this are 2 different ek9, the slow one did 107000km, the second one did 167000km... so i think the first one had more power, espacially the engine is in perfect condition with perfect compression etc! This vid shows how big the differences are between exhaustsystems!

Mate think your speedo is way out in EK9.2!

4th gear will NOT do 200kph. rev limiter in 4th is around 185kph.
