The J 20s are not going to be a dog fight specialist, It looks like a long range interceptor , bomber or a stealthish missile launching platform, much like the F14s with its amazing AIM 54 phoenix missile
It's definitely bigger than the F-22 Raptor, which can be a slight disadvantage visually. Also we don't know how powerful, reliable, durable and smokeless the powerplants/engines are. Russian planes smoke a lot, a disadvantage as opponents can see their smoke trails. But US planes are also more complicated, more expensive and require more maintenance - spare parts could also be a weakness is a protracted engagement.. At this stage, I don't think the US would feel very threatened, just mildly so.

China J20 front section looks like an F22, the middle section looks like a boxy F35 with 2 canards for faster climb, and the rear section with 2 variable vertical stabilizers looks like a T50. This J20 has the best of everything.

the bigger size over the J-20 have different advantage and weakness, the most affected factor is the TECHNOLOGY efficientcy, i am a chinese man but i don't stay/born at Taiwan, Macau, Hong Kong, Singapore or China. i don't know how is thier technology efficientcy? for example the petrol reciprocting engine of 4-cylinder 2.0L VTEC with about 200bhp compare to S52B32 (US) 6-cylinder 3.2L double Vanos with about 240bhp, but the fuel consumption rate about equal.
there have the reason why the F35 is design to be slower and smaller compare to F22, the USA focus on radar/IR stealth, smaller size reduce the dimension of radar reflection and in the same time weight reduce which allow additional mini turbine for vertical takeoff/landing. the f35 best classifield as air support to replace rotary wing aircraft. The aircraft travel at slower speed to reduce aerodynamic heating, lower fuel combusted, lower exhaust temperature which reduce the IR signal.

I read that the security personnel were told to allow any photography of the plane. And the website said that it really is a real airplane too..

It's definitely bigger than the F-22 Raptor, which can be a slight disadvantage visually. Also we don't know how powerful, reliable, durable and smokeless the powerplants/engines are. Russian planes smoke a lot, a disadvantage as opponents can see their smoke trails. But US planes are also more complicated, more expensive and require more maintenance - spare parts could also be a weakness is a protracted engagement.. At this stage, I don't think the US would feel very threatened, just mildly so.

China J20 front section looks like an F22, the middle section looks like a boxy F35 with 2 canards for faster climb, and the rear section with 2 variable vertical stabilizers looks like a T50. This J20 has the best of everything.

the bigger size over the J-20 have different advantage and weakness, the most affected factor is the TECHNOLOGY efficientcy, i am a chinese man but i don't stay/born at Taiwan, Macau, Hong Kong, Singapore or China. i don't know how is thier technology efficientcy? for example the petrol reciprocting engine of 4-cylinder 2.0L VTEC with about 200bhp compare to S52B32 (US) 6-cylinder 3.2L double Vanos with about 240bhp, but the fuel consumption rate about equal.

there have the reason why the F35 is design to be slower and smaller compare to F22, the USA focus on radar/IR stealth, smaller size reduce the dimension of radar reflection and in the same time weight reduce which allow additional mini turbine for vertical takeoff/landing. the f35 best classifield as air support to replace rotary wing aircraft. The aircraft travel at slower speed to reduce aerodynamic heating, lower fuel combusted, lower exhaust temperature which reduce the IR signal.

The T/W ratio of F-16C Block 50/52 is in excess of 1.1:1, whereas that of F-35A is 0.87:1 (that of F-35B & C are even lower). J-20 may be inferior to F-22, but it easily outclasses 90% of future US/NATO fighter fleet, thanks to Western emphasis on "War on Terror" (which switched focus from air-superiority to CAS).

there is a very big mistake on that plane--------------the logo of the chinese air force red star is wrong! it is not the real air force star! and from J-20 canards actuation this video you can see there are many civilians walked around the plane -------it means that this plane is not classified! why? because it is just a 1:1 model! not real! use your IQ to think about it !

@xuebaihuli Here in Finland I just read in a newspaper website that this was a chinese governments way of publishing the J-20 and that they have no intentions of deleting these videos or pictures of the J-20 project. I read that the security personnel were told to allow any photography of the plane. And the website said that it really is a real airplane too..

@liuxin6768 god now in china is winter and if that plane was working , at the back of the plane, the air should be hotter than other area and it will be different with other area
but during the video I didn't see any hot air came out from the engines
and from another video I saw many of civilians walked around the plane ! and no- soldiers ! also I don't think this airport is a military airport it is a personal airport ! and this plane just a 1:1 model ! made by a model plane club!
