As far as solid facts and stats are concerned, Reed is better. Troy Polamalu does things that dont have a column when i read the weeks stats, jumping under a guys legs and punching a ball into the endzone for a saftey, clearing the whole o-line in a superman jump to sack the QB. Ed Reed is the better player, but Polamalu is a bigtime playmaker when the game is on the line. Just my opinion...

Ed is better at every aspect of football besides blitzing. He's faster, smater, better hands, misses less tackles, and never gets attacked by a gameplan. Troy gets attacked by gameplans. Coaches would just as soon quit as suggest that they try to attack Reed in the gameplan. Ed is better.

In his first 10 games in 08 he grabbed 1 interception mainly due to that career threatening neck injury. in the last 6 games he grabbed 8 INT'S!!! it was insane. This yr its a bit different he didnt play the first 6 but ed for sure is a beast he will make his int' numbers regardless. I dunno if he wins DPOY as in 08 he had a beast yr and didnt win it but still best safety for sure.
