Played this game a ton. I remember getting bills for $150 a month, when it was on Gamestorm. -DP-EOSR. Had a MVP tag for having most kills in a clan match. Great game, before people ruined it, with all the hacking and lagging. Anyways, fairly simple game to run. NO reason Mystics doesn't have it up and running today. I'd play it!

i was a high ranking player when tha game shut down and had made some good friends and even found old buddies playing it i played it from aol there is a game called dark orbit it makes too many people pissed off though and there are too many hackers playing it wish this game was back so bad.

SDO fans may wanna look into Space Pirates and Zombies. Single-player only, but flight controls are similar and its a lot of fun so far.

It's nearly been 10 years now since SDO's shutdown. I was there at the end as Eclipso(HF). Kind of surprising this or something very similar hasn't sprung up as a F2P game. Seems like it'd be perfect for that model of play.

Man I so miss this game. I was one of the game OPs on the gamestorm version. My OP name was Cyanide. Also played as PrinceKain on the red team. A game like this seems like it wouldn't be too hard for a programmer to replicate. Only problem is would it have any kind of audience except those of us that remember it fondly.

Someone needs to find out who the person is responsible for this travesty on E.A.'s behalf so I can track this person down and punch them in the face. Silent Death Online was by far still to this day one of my absolute most favorite games to play. So far the closest replica's to SDO are ZeroVector and StarPort. Since this event occurred I have thus vowed my undying vengeance on E.A. may they rot in hell.

Reminds me of my AOL 4.0-7.0, 3am-er day's; loading up the noisy 56.6k Compaq presario for Clan wars and kill fests... Good times. I'd be interested to see what my monthly AOL bills were around that time.

Salamander was my favorite ship because it looked like a bird with a back-pack, and Sext-Blatgun was my favorite weapon; auto win the lag shots.

Back when I wasn't caught up in my own business. Starting "SMART VITALS" , I used to play on Game STorm ALL THE TIME!!! GS WAS THE Greatest Game ever made MAN!!!! I miss Silent death, and those days, to death. Thats when going online was fun and exciting. Now it's like the world is going under. Online isn't the same anymore. But it's great now too, but not so much more than it will ever be. Now everyone is trying to run the world with the internet. Blame them.

I played this back when it was on Gamestorm. On a 28.8 modem. Tokugawa (yellow) all the way! We were always the smallest, and it was a great community.

I think EA still has the rights. It'd be great if they released the software, since it's obvious they'll never do anything with it.

If you like this game (which i really did a long time ago), Get Half Life 2, then get the mod ETERNAL SILENCE for it. it's kind of the same idea but wayyyy better graphics and you get to go inside bases and what not.
