Calling another nazi buthcer a fucking hero ? They wanted to remove hitler due to the fact they wanted to make alliance and truce with west - still fighting at the east. He was another fucking pig not a hero. The way a history is butchered by morrons calling those animals a "heroes" makes me sick....
Stauffemberg was a career military man, a devout catholic and a proud and loyal German. He had lost an eye, a hand and two fingers of the other hand fighting in Tunisia. I believe we can expect him not to have been that happy with what was going on in a Germany strangled by the Treaty of Versailles. However it is known that he found deplorable the intolerance spread by Nazi propaganda and the crimes of war he already knew were being carried out. He felt he had a duty to fulfill.
Stauffenberg was happy as a clam when Germany was winning one victory after another, he didn't develop a sense of morals about it until the war turned against them and it became obvious they were going to lose. Then he suddenly had a conscience? How convenient.
@Blahblobify You might well be right. In total honesty, I do not know for sure. During the early years of the war however, even less people in Germany knew about what Hitler and the Nazis were about then in later years. Perhaps a good man like Stauffenberg could never have dreamed that the Nazi regime would be what it turned out to be. I give him credit to him for acting in a very brave way to end the Nazi regime.Because of his courage, I give him the benefit of the doubt.
@Blahblobify I think you are wrong and if you have the chance to read more about him, I believe you are going to discover that Stauffemberg was a man of strong moral principles. His conscience was not suddenly aroused by the knowledge that they were losing the war. He was never a nazi.
@lillyroth61 Yes sure and yet he said in the letter to his wife he likes the fact Germany got so many jew slaves since they will put them in good use in the work camps - here is youre hero. Trully indeed some people could learn to read the history i agree with you [sadly it involves you as well hypocrit]
I am left to wonder if Mr. Stauffenberg would have carried out this plot if the Germans were decidedly winning the war. By the time the plot came to being it was clear Germany was losing the war. He was a Nazi, remember.
@TurnerEckhardt He was never a nazi. Just a career military man who entered the military academy at the age of 17 (1924 aprox.) and became a proud officer loyal to his "Sacred Germany". Not everyone in uniform was a Nazi.
is it really hard to kill hitler? i mean he should just go into hitler's office with a pistol and pretend to do something and put a hole in adolf's head.
@SuperBluefire1 That's same as being a suicide bomber. The whole point of the assasination and operation Valkyrie was to kill Hitler and wipe out his military power - in other words, eliminating all Hitler influcenes from Germany. So being being a suicidal won't achieve anything as you have other stuff to elinimate.
He does not if i'm asked. One picture from the sideview doesn't tell nothing. I've seen frontview pictures about the both and they do not look the same.

Stauffenberg succeeded in showing the world that many Germans resisted and hated Nazism.

You couldn't just walk into Hitlers office with a pistol. You would have been searched before entering his presence.

They wanted to arrange a government before anything not just get rid of the tyrant.
By shooting him perhaps the situation would've been worse.
