  • hey man can you please tell how is the introduction of this music?

the music is like Em, Bm, G, D, and in the part one life shot down... is an C, D and Em isn't it?

  • Sorry it took some time to answer. Yes you're right about the chords. The intro starts with barring 4 strings on the fifth fret and then swinging in 3 strings on the seventh fret and then hitting 4 strings open between shifts. I then shift down to barring 4 strings on third fret and swinging in the 3 strings on the fifth fret and finally hitting 4 strings open. Then I go to barring 4 strings on the second fret and press them on and off to the emphasis of the beat. Hope that helps, HappyJack63

  • oh! John... we miss you today...

    indeed ;)

    thanks for your song.

  • the effects dont suit your vocals :S no offence, good lyrics though

  • nice song man!!!

  • Glad you like it. Thanks for your comment.

  • I Really like this song my friend! Well crafted and well played! The Lyrics sum up how most of felt about John Lennon..I still remember how shocked and upset I was when I heard the news of Johns death! I was 20 years old at the time and it was almost like losing a family member *****

    peace

    Rocket

  • this made me cry :'(

  • Seth, Thanks for your comments and also for adding this to your favorites. Yes it is sad that John was gunned down in such a senseless way. I began writing this song the day after John was killed and quite honestly...I was crying as I wrote it down. Peace, HappyJack63

  • Rocking Jack I loved it! You would of made Lennon proud! Excellent tribute! Keep it up my friend! Take care!

    peaceouTy!

  • Thanks for your kind words. I'm glad you like it. Peace.

  • .Your good. I wish you were here. My son puts in 8 to 12 hrs practicing lead...I teach him harmony, voice and fill at times with keyboard.

That was better than good. I saw you have a cr. Is there a group you pick/sing with?..Imagine as John said. What do you think of Ringo's tribute?

  • Thanks for your comment. My son is like yours and practices many hours a day learning the lead to songs. He likes to do double lead and often asks me to learn the corresponding lead parts. Not sure what "cr." stands for? I mostly encourage and support other bands although I've played guitar with some church groups. Have heard Paul's tribute but not Ringo's. Peace, Jack

  • You know John's UNIVERSE was sent to space I think yesterday...with the USA's massive voice gizmo. Interesting.

You seem a nice fellow. I was referring to equipment.

  • What a great tribute song!! 5*****

  • Thanks Gil for your comment and 5 stars.

  • Wow, you are pretty good. I love your guitar style; you are a pretty amazing guitarist, in my opinion. And I like the lyrics, especially the sound and deepness of the chorus. This was a wonderful tribute to a wonderful man. I'm sure John would have loved it. R.I.P. John Lennon

    Peace and love,

    Mary

  • Thanks Mary for your comments. Glad you like the song and style. John had taken 5 years off from music to devote to his family. (Lyric: "When we had nearly forgotten him") He was working on his return to music with the recording session that fateful day. Had he lived, he would have become not only the most significant spokesperson for World Peace but also the Family.

  • Exactly, it is horrible. He was just about to give the world more amazing music when he was sadly taken from us. And he was such a loving man who loved his family and all he wanted was peace!

  • This is good You are all right,We need music like this in are time.

  • Thanks for the comments. John would have been very vocal today about world events. His voice is dearly missed.

  • This is very good. I think today we need music like beatles in the times that we live now and i think this is a good tribute to John Lennon and his living memory.

  • You're absolutely right. More than ever before, today we need Beatles singing things like: "All you need is Love...Love is all you Need", "And in the end, the Love you get is equal to the Love you give". If John had lived, I believe he'd have continued working for world peace. Thanks for your comments, Happyjack63

  • wasnt john lennon one of the beatles...the one that was killed by that hawaiian pshyco??? nice song:-)

  • Thanks crazyadolescent666 for your comment. The answer is "yes" and "yes" to each question. Glad you like the song. Peace, Jack

  • peace happy...?

  • John Lennon wrote "Imagine". He was alot more than a "Beatle". It was an irony he was assinated as he loved mankind and tried to live like it. His assininator was American.

  • oh...i see...thats grt

  • this is your song right? awesome. nice melody, though i dont like the distortion. do a clean version xD

  • Thank you for your comments. Yes this is my song. The sudden murder in 1980 of John Lennon cast an ominous dark cloud on all stars and celebrities from then on. No longer did they feel safe in public and John had felt safe enough in NY city to walk around without body guards or protection. The idea for the distortion was to also give the song a bit of an ominous tone however it is not essential to it either. I'll be happy to upload a clean version sometime in the near future. Peace, Jack

  • Nice job, hj63! The world is still empty with the great John Lennon missing from us. I still remember vividly hearing Howard Cosell announcing it on MNF. I was in disbelief, stunned & felt paralyzed after hearing the sad news. I could not eat for about a week thereafter.. I felt numb, knowing that one of my heroes was assassinated & taken away so still young. RIP our John.

  • Thanks BritsRComing for your comments. Glad you like the song. I was delighted to see Neil Young perform "Imagine" for the 911 Tribute Benefit. In that way, John was represented there since we know if he had been alive during 911 in New York he certainly would have performed for the benefit. Peace, Jack
