I have a 2009 Epi LP Standard plain top in honey burst . Made in China . I love it . A lot . I did change the nut after 1 1/2 years . I play every day . I have no problems with the tuners at all . I had no problems with the Pups either . I recently change them for gibson 490's but that's because my cheaper guitar needed new ones . I play blues on my LP so I swapped the Pups and put the standards p/u in the cheap guitar . I recommend the Epi LP . - Jerry .
I wondering I have the same guitar but with a flame maple top, and the pickups are really dirty like it looks like someone has been rubbing their fingers all over the silver pickup caps and they don't look to good. I've tried to wipe them with a rag but they look the same. Is this normal? or do I have to replace them or something?
is it normal to have some hum with those pickups if ur playing loud? cuz on mine if im playing with the volume to 6 i notice a hum and it doesnt matter if im touching the bridge or not the hum is still ther. its an awesome guitar tho.
he i have a question i've been looking between the american fender stratocaster and this epiphone les paul for a whileeeeeeee now.
I was wondering if you could give an opinion as to whixh u like more. I have an epiphone sg now and i like it but the pickups got all messed up and one doesnt work now when the other does, so im nervous that may happen to the les paul. Price isnt really an issue i can spend most at $1,000. Help would be really appreciated thnx!!!
Honestly they're so different that I don't think you can even compare them. It comes down to what you're looking for in a guitar. Quality wise I've found U.S. Strats are pretty damn consistent, whereas with the Epis you should definitely play a few to find the right one. But they're both perfectly nice, and if you're looking for something with humbuckers, the Epiphone will save you a good deal of money. I'd say play em both tho and just pick the one you feel suits you better
@FullDistortionDotCom What do you think we should be looking for when trying to pick out an individual epiphone lp? What's the easiest way to tell which ones are quality. I've heard that playing it unplugged and looking for a warm woody sound rather than a twangy metallic sound is what we should be doing.
Also what was that first song you played at 6:35 ? I recognise it but cant recall the name.
How does this compare to the Esteban acoustic guitar pack I just bought? It's got steel strings and even a herringbone stripe! I can go from playing sweet acoustic songs such as House of the Rising Sun or I can plug it into my amp and play metal!
There is no comparison. The Esteban Gift of Guitar pack is the finest instrument available for purchase. I would recommend it over any other guitar, at any other price. You COULD spend thousands on a Gibson or PRS, or you could spend 3 payments of $33.33 and trump them all.
can someone explain what the difference between plain top and plus top is?

Dude, I'm not crazy about jap guitars, but you did a better demo on this guitar hands down than any cat that I have seen doing demos for gibson. LOL.
