You guys are Star Wars illiterate. The Rakghouls actually appeared in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, an eight year old game. They aren't copying the zombie idea. I had totally forgotten about them, and I'm excited for this! They always creeped me out in KOTOR.

The Rakghouls, as Rydar posted in the uploader comments, were part of Knights of the Old Republic, which TOR is based on. And they actually have more in common with Werewolves than Zombies, as it just takes a bite or scratch that DOESN'T kill you to turn you.

@ArtymisFowl4 Wookieepedia has an article on "Zombie". The Star Wars universe has Sith Alchemy that created the "Korriban Zombie(s)". Karina the Greats used "zombies" too and the Imperial "Blackwing" virus also created zombies. So SWTOR is kinda late to the party on zombies in Star Wars.

@dchero if you've read the books they actually have something like a zombie apocolypse, but the rakghoul were in the very fisrt KOTOR, which came out well before the zombie fan frenzy started. the scenerio is just similar, plus if you really look at what a zombie is then a lot of other creatures could be considered a zombie.

It's just a diesease that creates a highly aggressive creature that is formed from a host
