  • Hello, i do same desing but my problem is maybe i using like wick a mini rope (sorry for my english) the capilarity fails but when get pressure my flame is pure blue (good heat), the other problem is the heat and presure on the bottle..., for ignite it i require a candle for 4 minutes on the pipe... maybe i do a 3 roll pipes and long tubes to see if that work better.., nice stove!

  • @nopochoclos It would be good to see your burner, know size of tube, jar, what kind and size is wick, otherwise is difficult to give you good answer. I am using fiberglass wick, but cotton wick also works ok not so long as fiberglass but still good. Wick shouldn't be too thin. Burner has to be fully pressurized. Only hole is jet hole.

  • Stove seems pretty effective, I was just wondering how you got it fired up, as there doesn't seem to be any way to pre-heat the coil?

  • This was first burner I made and I didn't want to film before I haven't checked it. But when it worked good I was too happy to think about movie.

But seriously speaking, I put small muffiner with alcohol under coil to preheat and pressurize burner after it was lighted up. You can see it in my other videos.

  • @lebammabel

Thanks for the quick response, I have seen how you did it now, it seems to heat up pretty fast. I'm going to make one almost identical, but I'm going to fashion a small dish that will go on top before the pipes are fixed in place, I can put my primer fuel into that.

  • I also made kind of dish on my copper stove.

  • Yes, I see that now, I'm wondering what kind of solder you used to build the copper stove, or was it jb weld?

  • To make copper burner I used hard solder sticks which are used for brazing.

To tell truth I haven't seen JB weld only on internet, because it is not present in my country. If you want to find information about it just type "JB Weld" in search bar. I know some youtubers are using it. It is like cold welding stuff and can withstand high temperatures.

  • Ok, cheers mate, I'll get some brazing rods!

  • @lebammabel i cant withstand temps from fire, believe me i know and it stinks like all hell when it burns

  • Isn't this stove just a gas generator??

  • I suppose yes. It vaporizes liquid alcohol.

  • If I'm correct, Alcohol burns cleaner than gas/butane (like in stoves) so it isn't supposed to char pans and that.

    Is this true?

  • I think it depends from alcohol, but my pans are clean. I use 94% alcohol.

  • This < supercat.

  • this is by far one of the coolest things i've ever seen!

  • Very economic burner.

  • Very Nice work...

  • Hi, can you make a video and or show how you made it? Thank you in advance!!!

  • Thanks for interest. I've already made one short video "Making coil pipe alcohol stove", try to look for it or go into my account there it is. That burner is smaller but principle is the same.

  • Wow, by far best one ive seen! how deep do you put the wick into the pipe? Does it go all the way through the pipe? how big do you make the flame holes 1/16"smaller?? does the glass get hot? did I mention friggin awsome

  • Thanks, wick is inserted in strait parts of tube's legs and it goes approximately till point where tube starts to curve. I made only one jet hole in size of thumb tuck for alcohol burner (approximately 1mm) and If you want to burn white gas, jet has to be much smaller. Yes glass gets hot but not too hot. I think that if you pour in glass jar boiling water it gets hotter. Ones I tried to burn acetone (smaller jet hole needed), jar was just warm.

  • nice, and i take it the hole is at the very top?

  • No, jet hole is on upper side of coil's lower part.

  • Hi, can you make a video and or show how you made it

  • what is the main body the fuel chamber made from is that a small glass jar with a steel lid?

  • Yes it is glass jar. Actually I want to make it from metal but don't have welding equipment. But there is one good thing with glass jar - you can see if fuel is going to end and know when to refuel. It is necessary to safe wick.

  • make a vidio on what you used to make it and how you made it....that is a awsome desighn
