two of my favorite skaters from that era.. yea when i was a kid i used to think ronnie creager and tom penny were the same person. cause the way they revert so smoothly in transition after flip tricks and the low key steez. shit they even kinda dressed the same. after menikmati i never made that mistake ever again.
Menikmati was seriously one of the best videos ever made in my opinion. It came out in like 2001 and everyone just tears shit up. I let someone borrow it and never saw it again.
This man is one of the most underrated skaters of all time. Effortless style, amazing technical ability, and a humble man. I remember this part sort of putting me in a trance when I got the VHS back in 2000. I also remember the very next year, the Deca video Second to None came out, and Daewon's part in that warehouse had tricks in it that people still can't touch 10 years later. ahh, good times.
this was the first skate vid i got on dvd, and i was blown away by everybody's part. as soon as i got done watching it, i went outside and started skating and broke my arm. the whole 4 weeks i was in a cast all i did was watch this vid.
I remember when we had VHA and we spent like 30 minutes rewinding 1:14 to 1:17 deciding if it was a 360 or 540 flip....cuz back then, that was the 720 flip of today.
i have no idea why ronnie didnt get all of the credit back then. For me it was this outstanding yet short part and then nothing for several years. I'm from europe and i dont get what was going on back then because even now when ronnies older he rips but he doesnt seem to be that eric koston type of pro... any ideas?
@MsDickard I don't know either man. I remember way back in the mid to late 90's a video called Trilogy came out. It was 101, Blind and World Industries. I still have it today and still watch it. If you ever get the chance to see it check out Ronnie's part. Absolutely sick and I remember asking ALL the time about why Ronnie Creager wasn't a bigger name. Never got an answer. He's one of the most underrated skaters out there.
who else remembers that interview where Ronnie said he felt "brainwashed" by the és management who had told him he had to throw himself down stairs and handrails t prove himself "shoe worthy"? no wonder he had no idea for the intro and was obviously not into it as much as the other team members anymore. or he held onto that intro idea for What if. no matter the sponsor, you´re a living "down to Earth skateboarding you love so much" legend Ronnie!
@dankjeenyus YEAH! I saw this as a kid barely getting into skateboarding. His tricks were so perfect and his style was just so natural. I remember seeing his ender as a kid and tripped out too.
