I know how to do inverted both with index finger and between middle finger + ring finger. But how do you go back to regular FROM inverted at the end of the video?
It'd be nice to have this explained in the vid, but I've kind of managed to figure it out for myself. It involves switching between your middle two fingers right during the figure-8 when you're swinging downwards toward the same part of your body you're holding the saber in. Not the clearest explanation, I know. Just rewind a lot and pay close attention to how he does it; that's how I got it.
hahaha my best friend is coming over on sunday and im going to welcome her by spinning my practice saber at her like this *evil laugh* this is gonna be sweet.... PAYBACK!!!! for all the times shes... im gonna stop chattering now. *backs away*
@musicmakr123 I don't think so. In Makashi there's a move called: Makashi Flourish. It consists of rapidly drawing an X in the air with blade tip followed by a Makashi Salute.
yes this looks like it.....deliberate moves....no fancy flourishing involved like in makashi or djem so...just simple basic strokes with doggedness to defeat the less dogged enemy.
HEY....how did this comment get posted to this video....Youtube screwed up....this comment was supposed to have gone on another lightsaber video.....i apologize for the randomness of the comment...it was meant for another video.
thats what I wanted to know....still haven't figured out how it happened...but I was watching a video called "chi-sho applied theory and mechanics" or something with that title anyway....mysterious, no? very mysterious.......
I do really wish you could explain a bit more in depth about how you do an inverted variel spin slide. I always mess up when I use an Obi Wan Kanobe saber, although I can almost nail the trick with a Mace Windu saber. Another question i have is, is a double spin with a tail flip actually possible with a Darth Vader saber? The reason i ask is because ive only seen this done with a Skywalker saber. I just want to see the trick nailed with a Vader saber. Please get back to me, Thank you.
I also have meny of the same questions about the differences in sabers and the different techniques that can be applied to each one. If you find some time could you make an other tutorial going over all these diffring types? I know this is one of the major issues that have plagued we training jedi for years so this video would be nice.
Many of your questions both of you ask are covered in the DVD that I made. It's more indepth with the moves with better explanations and examples Also have 7 new spins not on youtube! I sell the DVDs so just message me on my profile if you want one.
I can do it with the Vader no problem. It comes down to hand placement on the hilt. You have to figure out what works for you as different sized hands work differently on the same hilt. Grip it right under the emitter with the silver knob facing you, when you invert the silver knob will be against your palm.
darth vader saber is a bit cumbersome still. i moved the emiter guard up a little by unscrewing the 2 screws, moving it up an inch and screwing 1 screw back in. it gives a nice grip space on at the center of gravity
hehe wow i didn't know that I already knew this lol i usually do somehting with a darth maul type thingy where i make a figure 8 and it spins usuing my wrist looks good i think and nice tutorial i usually do like 3 inverts in a row using one finger to transfer to the other side each time awesome!
thanks a lot!

IT'S A FLOURISH! NOT A SPIN! ARGH!!! Its still pretty cool though
musicmakr123 2 years ago
I know they are called flourishes, but for the sake of the common man, I decided to use the term, Spins.

umm, has anyone tried this with a darth vader saber? the hilt on video looks thinner and lighter, i can't do that without dropping the saber :S

I just got my sabre a few days ago. How do you do sabre without it hurting your hand?
sabrerocker 4 years ago
You can do two things.
1. keep using the saber as normal and let the skin on your hand build up "toughness" or callouses to keep your hand from being hurt.
2. wear tight gloves. I suggest Mechanix gloves that you can get at any auto part store.
