i see many videos each with different way to play this. and all you guys say they are all wrong.. ill go with this cause this way is easy to play and to other nubs like me sounds pefect. yes i know there are other.. better ways to play this.. but you would say that way is wrong 2. chances are people looking this up arent really that good at bass anyway.. if they were they wouldnt need this video.... so dont hate so much on those just tryin to learn a song they like to have fun playin it.

mmkay i been a bassist for 4 years and just lemme say.. 1st mistake ur playin a yamaha. 2nd mistake is the 7th and 8th fret (i know some people have their own style but no one is gonna pass simplicity) this song is played in standard flat. any one using this video to learn off of is either a noob or a dumbass.

Sounds good... sorta. But try to push down on the fret with just one finger. If you get good with each finger then you don't have to move your hand as far and fast.

This video taught me how to play my first bassline. I did it all on one string, (like in the video) and then my uncle showed me that at it could be played MUCH easier. Theres a 5 fret difference between frets, so instead of going all the way down one 1 string, i can just go to the next string :D I also discovered soemthing cool! you know in the song when it repeats the second time, and you hear that last note? i searched the WHOLE guitar and realized that its the second fret on the D string.

Playing it all on 1 string isn't right, required, and doesn't add anything to the song except sloppy sound and the possibility to miss more notes. Also, every note you play is wrong, drop your E and A string to D and G, and the first note is an E flat, so play all your notes down half a step

Doing that sort of thing has its place. I know that when I started out I would play everything that way, staying on one string I mean. I had to be twice as fast just to keep up with the music. I dont play that way anymore but now I have some pretty sick speed because of it. Its good to play that way in private if you want to get faster.

Yeah, that works....maybe you could show the alternate frets for people that don't know relative tuning... like for when you go down to the 7th and 8th frets, you could also play with the 2nd and 3rd frets of the A string...just to keep your hand in the same area.

Otherwise, great! There's another little detail though..usually after the first round of two of that line, they go up one octave from the starting note (for this 4 string, it would be the 12 fret on E, or 7th on A)
