The only reason Ayn Rand's face shows up is because Rapture is loosely based off of her ideas, beliefs and even her works!!! Her novel, Atlas Shrugged for instance: Atlas(the name Fontaine used), Andrew Ryan(Ayn Rand) just switch the letters around and add r.e.w!!! And the novel Atlas Shrugged is about a dystopian USA aka Rapture! Puzzle solved! lmao

Actually, there's one more of those faces. It's outside Steinman's surgery room, next to the turret in the hall ... and also: Those faces that appear, they are actually already a picture that exists as a real picture in Bioshock (not an ''easteregg''): It's in the room where you first see Steinman. If you look at the face (0:32) you can see another picture to your upper left. See? They are the exact same face!

Proof? If you move up a little you can see the exact same text on the bottom ...

The developers said they really wanted to sever the title bioshock from rapture. They said it's really more of a concept, and Infinite carries the bioshock title because it's based around the same concept, not the same story. Either way I can't wait for it to come out

The picture of him with the "parents" is obviously not really him, because they were implanted memories, he never had those parents he remembered so how could he have had his picture taken with them at a farm? He never went to a farm, he was raised is rapture all his life, then had memories inplanted, was placed on the plane, given the command to kill the crew/passengers and crash the plane over rapture

Bioshock was based on Ayn Rand's story Atlas Shrugged. Ever notice the similarities between Andrew Ryan and Ayn Rand? Both soviet era immagrants, both lovers of capitalism. Andrew Ryan follows (or at least tries to) her philosophical theory of objectivism? It's pretty fucking epic when you read Atlas Shrugged. The game just starts making way too much sense.

Ken Levine, Bioshock's Creative Director and Lead Writer, was *very* strongly inspired by the book.
