I'm just curious, what Corvette motor is a 6.4L? LS1 = 5.7L LS2 = 6.0L LS3 = 6.2L LS6 = 5.7L LS7 = 7.0L LS9 = 6.2L L78 = 6.5L (1965 Big block 396) L88 = 7.0L (1969 Big block 427) LS6 = 7.4L (1970 Big block 454) I can see that it's a 3rd or 4th gen SBC (LS series), but is it a punched out LS3? A stroked LS1?? A typo??? I just don't get it.

It's more reliable too. With the Rotary you have to bee always revving it high to actually make any power and it doesn't have alot of torque. Along with the LS7, you get loads of low end torque and horsepower. Fuel economy is better too and it doesn't come factory twin turbocharged. Also swapping in LS series into a RX7 is quite cheap just like how people swap them into 240SXs. But i do have respect for the Rotary, they are good.
@JuanPapaNicolao most of the time the v8 will be more powerful to begin with. The swap is going to be cheaper than making the stock rotary engine faster, although the engine offered in the rx-7 was plenty powerful enough in that model. The V8 will make enough power you won't have to modify it to make this car a rocket. That help?

the swaps good for drag racing and thats about it, completely sutffs it for circuit work, ruins the balance through corners, as it becomes front heavy.
An LSX corvette Motor BARELY weighs anymore than a Rotary. Rotarys are cast iron through and through. Cast Iron engine block cast iron exhaust manifold, etc etc. ALL Lsx Blocks are Aluminum alloy. The weight difference doesn't even reach triple digit numbers. Factor in the weight of the average driver and the weight of a full tank of gas and you have already upset your precious 50/50 (really 48/52) weight balance by 300 pounds. and a passenger and you have 450 pounds off weight.
why dose everyone confuse the ls engines with the lsx block they are different ls engines are aluminum and lsx blocks are cast iron and do not come in any production cars and are stronger than the ls engines

Wanker engine is garbage, unreliable, and in this car had about 150 h.p. unless it was a turbo model. The car now has way more h.p. and torque now idiot. Also the owner doesn't have to baby his engine like he would have to with the rotary junk.

I was simply using the more common engine done in these swaps as an example. Wankels aren't good for much more than boat anchors or melting them down into cannon balls. They are noisy unreliable, oil burning, gas guzzling, Smog Spewing pieces of crap that deserve to be uninvented.
