Florida Outpouring - "Not drunk as you suppose"

Please pray for discernment for all the Saints in the last days, remaining close to the Good Shepherd & watching out for one another. Please read, re-read & meditate on 1 Timothy 3 about the signs of the last days, then 1 Timothy 4 about the danger we all face as followers of the Lord Jesus Christ relating to apostasy.

The best advice I could offer to anyone struggling with discernment is to listen to a sermon called 'The Reproach of the Solemn Assembly' by David Wilkerson.

and now for the acts chapter... they were sitting filled with the Holy Ghost, speaking with other tongues then Others mocked then Peter, stood up with the eleven... were does it say they looked drunk? to me it sounds like the "mockers" were mocking the tongues.. not the wobbling.. unless they wobbled while they were sitting???

Satan's angels don't heal people. Where did you get that idea? It is not at all biblical and the pharisees accused Jesus of casting out demons by the power of demons. Jesus' response was that a house divided against itself cannot stand. Demons do not undo the devil's work (sickness), Christians do. His response also included a warning that blaspheming the Holy Spirit (calling the Holy Spirit the devil or attributing His work to the devil) is a sin that would not be forgiven.

It also says we are to beware false prophets, who will come to deceive. What we do will never be new, and greater does not mean different. What todd teachers goes against what the bible teachers. The feelings he teaches people to seek after are from their flesh, and the tricks of the word twist the bible to say things that it doesn't. So why did Peter say "We're not drunk as you suppose" on the day of Pentecost? And don't tell me it was the "gibberish" they were speaking. These languages they were speaking were understood by those around them. Drunk men do not speak other foregin languages fluently. So, obviously they were doing soemthing that made them appear drunk. The Holy Spirit is the same yesterday, today and forever, and being drunk in the Spirit is not a new "technique." It's and OLD experience!

Oh, it was a posting on on U called "100 percent proof Todd is a fake", or something like that. Any criticisms I left on this posting (due 2 my outrage at this defammation of Todd), were eliminated. I live in Italy & we have been watching God TV. Nobody comments on the amazing expressions on the faces of people healed. God bless them! There is jealousy of Todd from many other preachers.

Interesting to note that I stood up for Todd due to some very very nasty comments about him. I tried to be as civil as possible considering this man was bad mouthing, denigrating and defaming Todd. That's right don't examine or try where the spirit is really coming from just take it and end up with whatever ya get. What did Jesus' death and resurrection do for us? I am not anti-Todd. I am against false doctrines though. The scene with the Apostles, someone mentioned drunkeness to discount the apostles not to say they looked like they were drunk. This has nothing to do with the Gospel. We are all still here because of what Christ did. If we rely on stuff like this we will get nowhere. I am speaking from experience. I have been to services like this and I can tell you this is not biblical and there is no victory. Victory came over 2000 years ago by Christ.

Here's an honest question. I'm not judging this - just a question. Can we reconcile this with 1 Cor. 14:23-33? Paul is concerned with how the behavior of Christians is seen by unbelievers (v 23) and asserts that "God is not a God of disorder" (v 33). I think most unbelievers watching this would think these people are "out of their minds" (v 33). Is that beneficial to presenting the Gospel in a rationale way that carries with it conviction of sin? Miracles can still happen without disorder.

I hear you, but I am not sure. In Acts Peter stood up and boldly preached a sermon starting "we are not drunk as you suppose". They spoke in tongues, so people thought they were drunk. I think it was a different thing.

But if the happenings in Florida can draw attention to Jesus and his message that is good. But is a fair comment that we need to be mindful of how non-Christians view this, because we want to make the gospel attractive and be viewed positively. Thank You. God Bless.

This is the joy unspeakable! I had them prey for me at the local church I got one glimpse of God. Well mortal man cannot see God and live and I screamed out uncontrollably at the top of my voice with joy. We were in the offices for preying for a lot of sick people so I tried to stop myself so as not to make a scene but that only made me start hitting the paster praying for me with the back of my arm and kept this up till we were both screaming with laughter.
