I like Ron Paul. He is the one Republican in D.C. that is a true conservative. I disagree with him on many issues, but at least he's not a phony Republican. Like the ones who voted yes for extending the Patriot Act.
The problem however is that Ron Paul I think lacks the charisma to win a general vote. Under normal circumstances that wouldn't be an issue, but he has to face more barriers than more institutionally accepted candidates.
Paul's a great man, but recently he has been giving rather dry speeches about monetary policy. He's more inspiring when giving these ideological speeches about limited government,

The real problem is trade deficit and unrestrained market competition in an age of information technology, corporations and investors are hovering over the national economy like vultures over a dead carcass while Ron Paul is pointing his finger at the government, the only institute designed to watch over public interest.
So we found a scapegoat, ..the Federal Reserve. The real poverty comes from free market corporatism leading to trade deficits. If the Fed's were not pumping money the shit would have hit the fan a long time ago. Ron Paul is a representative of the business executive branch, not a defender of public interest.
I pray every day that he will win the presidency in 2012, but even if he does not, his campaign will expose even more people to the truth. That gives me hope for the future of this country.

I like Ron Paul. He is the one Republican in D.C. that is a true conservative. I disagree with him on many issues, but at least he's not a phony Republican. Like the ones who voted yes for extending the Patriot Act.
The problem however is that Ron Paul I think lacks the charisma to win a general vote. Under normal circumstances that wouldn't be an issue, but he has to face more barriers than more institutionally accepted candidates.

I only hope this time his "supporers" don't stab him in the back and vote for popularity and peer prssure and instead vote for truth. SOOO many people who CLAIMED they stood for truth and the U.S. voted for others because "I didn't know you could write in a name on a ballet". Of course they didn't If Snooky from Jersy Shore or the local radio station didn't tell them it existed, they wouldn't know. There are no other candidates that could capture my vote in the Republican party because it is apparent that both Republicans & Democrats are nearly one in the same. There is no real fiscal conservatism, there is no real military conservatism & there is absolutely NO way either party will stand up against Big Biz or the Fed. I will be interested to hear more from Ron Paul as we approach 2012!

They didn't like to her anything bad about Nixon, they almost booed... They didn't care to hear anything bad about Reagan, Bush, or the Congressional majority that they had in the 00's. Conservatism has abandoned it's principles for so long that it has no principles at all now. And these people are stumbling, not knowing when to clap and when to boo. They have been part of a terrible experiment. But, of course, they won't admit that. Instead they listen for Buzzwords and cheer appropriately.

The truth is that the economy has more fundamental problems that are caused by free market corporatism and foreign investors. These problems lack populist appeal and don't fit a political campaign because it shows consumers are ultimately to blame for creating this trade deficit.
