as a Maple Leafs fan, one of my favourite all-time players is Wendel Clark. I really think Jarome is the closest we have in comparison to Wendel in todays NHL. I hate this idea that a player has to put up 95 points to be considered a "big number one" center. As far as I'm concerned Langkow and Conroy were very effective players. What more can you ask from a center then 70+ points with great PKing and a good defensive game?

I don't know what player you've been watching for the last 3 years but Iginla is far from a power forward. I'm a Flames fan but I'm at least willing to accept that Iginla is a shadow of the player he used to be. He's been way too much of a perimeter player over the last few years and from watching him play over the last season and a half it's almost like he has no heart and no desire to win left in him.

Iginla has had good linemates before, people just forget. Yeah he's never played an NHL game along side Crosby but he's still played along side a Tanguay in his prime and a Langkow in his prime. Say all you want about Langkow but he was a great player two years ago. He may not be that mythical "big number one" guy that the Flames have been "searching" for all of these years, but he was very serviceable and a good corner player and PKer as well as good defensively.
