It seems odd that the designer has a hydraulic cylinder devoted solely to moving the round from the cut-off saw to the splitting bin. Why not just use gravity and let the round fall into the pit? Plus, I'm hoping that this machine is made of galvanized steel and not aluminum. Those holes in the outriggers are going to wallow out very fast if it's the latter.
The music was bangin'. It has a nice beat and I can dance to it.
I'm located in British Columbia and am wondering if anyone has seen this machine process west coast fir? All the vides I seem to find are of machines cutting and splitting really easy to split woods... maple and birch and such. I'm in the market for a machine that will cut and split a 24" round of Douglas Fir that has been exposed to wind... Can anyone help me?
When splitting a log into 8 pieces, how does it keep the top and bottom splits close to equal?
Do you have to set the height for each log? i.e. if you run a 12" dia log the center would be 6". Do you need to change the setup when switching to a 20" dia log?

Those aren't real logs with bark they are using uniform sized debarked telephone poles. If they were using real logs with real bark I would be impressed.

Nice equipment but the music drives my mind to porno scenes of the 80's. LOL!

Looks a little flimsy all welded aluminum not so sure it would hold up and no infeed conveyor.
