  • very nice I want to do something for our local native Americans the younger generation ,fI I had a chance, I would express what I believe & that is, your people were right in their way of life. right is never wrong . wrong can never be right. my dream would have been & still is , to have belonged I share the intense emotional connection to the earth respecting every moment it's complete balance. defend her or be her enemy.

  • wow! very very very nice

  • just listen to those drums beautiful, really powerful to see them dancing and singing like this.

as an irishman who always cheered for the indians in westerns when i was a little boy, this really made my night, cheers for uploading it Ahwahneechee

  • I think it is supposed to rain right after one of these dances, Thats why they are wearing those hats

  • Yakama is so nice!! my first visit was last yr aug. 2008 :]

  • Awesome vid, love the costumes, errr I mean regalia...

  • keep your traditions alive. its hard to see people who deny their past and a joy to see thoose who embrace it.

  • I feel bad for the bird that got plucked for those feathers! lol! anyway, nice dance and vid

  • atleast they got something of their own whether illama or bulls

  • 2:18 Thats My Dad!!!!!!! Yakima Pride Yo. [= ♥☺

  • yakama pride!!

  • sorry we dont rub our genitals on each other like you do at the clubs

  • rubbing genitals lol, I was just kidding, I prefer ya'lls dances over our llama sacrifice in inti raymi, I hope they stop doing the llama thing in south america, at least in bull fighting the bull has a fighting chance, the chosen llama on inti raymi is screwed.

  • yeah...you are right. But remember the incas did sacrifices not for fun, they did it because it was an act of thank to the sun or Inti.

  • Thanks for the correction on the spelling and its updated and corrected.

  • prety cool =)....i agree with u i like the 1 with the bear head peice

  • Absolutely beautiful!

I am not Native American, but I have always been very moved by their past culture and traditions.

This might sound corny to some people, but I literally get teary eyed watching Native American pow wows. They are very touching and beautiful to me. It is like having a spiritual experience. Perhaps, also, it is so moving because I interpret this ritual to symbolize being at one with nature and the divine consciousness of the universe.

  • I agree, this is outstanding. I am based in the UK and a follower of Native American Culture from here. Having attended many pow wows in the UK over 20 years), I am still learning all the time. I love the drums, singing and dancing on this video. I have not danced in public myself but this video could be the inspiration! I am always aware of the need to honour etc and will take this into account.

  • Chi manajiwin

  • Awesome! I'm a Yakama native also, but I somehow missed this powwow. It's a great video anyhow!

  • its amazing......my girlfriend has 2 kinds of indian 1 canadian and 1 american and i have some mayan i can even speak alot of it...

  • when da fkk waz there a pow-wow @ da sundome?

  • great,beautiful.Pawnees 4ever!!

  • I love it. but .. is that the right song for this video? the song is much faster than the dancers are dancing in the first song.

  • I am from Yakima and I think it is great that these Indians are keeping the traditions. Some of my best friends are Indian!

  • WARRIOR NATION.

  • Ah, you natives are all so sexy! I'm so glad I have family up in Yakima so I can get a chance at seeing these gorgeous men!

May you always walk the red road :)

  • Be proud of all Native people that attempt to retain some of their pride while surviving in this world. Don't like powwows? Don't go, simple as that. By the way, what language (or dialect) do you speak or claim to speak?

  • I can't stand these "Weekend Warriors" that claim to be "Native". A lot of these FAKE idiots even celebrate the "4th Of July". What a disgrace to all real "Natives". I was out in Campeche Mexico and was totally blown away. I met with several REAL NATIVES from various Mayan Tribes who spoke nothing but Mayan dialect. This was a true experience. So for all you fake ass every other weekend or month "Pow Wow" going work for the "White Man" all week disgraceful wannabe perpetraters. FIRE BLAZE!

  • Hey "blessed son of God", your passing judgement on a people you obviously have no knowledge about, our people are the back bone of this Indian Country,if you knew anything about Real Natives, you wouldnt be talking like a fake ass native yourself. So you had to go to Mexico to find real Natives huh?

  • Beautiful!

  • i think it's the other way ,we have culture and traditions, they are the barbarians,we never tried to invade anyone,we just wanted to keep what's ours,PEACE!

  • I'm romanian but i admire your culture, our people have a lot of things in common,we still live like we lived 2 thousands years ago, only in the city its different, but we still work the land with our hands and cherish our surroundings, had invaders but luckily we stopped them, most of them, and we have unique dances, the bear dance, the goat dance and calusarii dance, the sad thing is that other europeans consider us 3 world country because of our ways:(,they don't think we are civilized

  • Hey!! You know what? Use to Live in Yakima,

    WA many years ago. Cool.

  • so relaxing....eases thy trouble mind

    very soothing...my kind of music

  • WOW! when was this taken? Some of those dancers look familiar.

  • I also feel proud to be First Nations. I always feel a strong connection when I hear this music

  • i get goosbumps when ihear all the sounds, bells, drum, singers etc, but their good goosebumps, like i'm at home there

  • i get scared too T_T

  • Incredible. I am from Mexico, and I enjoyed this dance. Even I dont know its exactly meaning, I can guess this is a very important dancing for you. You must be proud of your roots. Congratulations. Keep being strong.

  • another video of our powwow, wish we could run our powwow again *sighs* the goot times

  • Since this is old VHS video that is compressed to upload, the quality is a little fuzzy. To get a better picture hit the left button on the right that has a box in the center. It will shrink the screen, but it is a slightly better quality. to make it normal again, just hit the same button. Enjoy.
