The past few weeks have really been a hard time for me. Two of my grandparents died within two months. I was very close to them. Going to those two funeral hurt me financially and I feel like I am hanging on by a thread. But, then a friend gave me a CD with this song on it and it touched me! Quickly it turned into a favorite! I am in one of those trials in which Christ is calming me while the storm slams against my soul. I know it will eventually end. Christ is my best friend through this life!
I pray one day christian radio will play songs like this, and none of that mushy God is your boyfriend/girlfriend stuff on the radio. Our God is Holy, holy, holy. :)
Lord thank you for showing me this video.. please be with my family as my aunt is being put in with hospice. just keep her from pain.. Teresa I love you
This is the song I needed to hear because of the pain I feel from the loss of my uncle back in May. It's the first Christmas where I can't call my aunt and talk to both of them. I lost an uncle and my aunt lost a brother. She and I are the only ones left in my maternal family. So thank you for putting up this song. :) <3
i <3 this song soooo much!!! i always get teary when i hear it..... it always makes me happy!!! thanxz soooo much for putting this on youtube!!!! its sooooooooo encouragin to hear!!!!
this is probably one of the most beautiful songs ever written.. including chapman's remember the chains. i have a different version from scott. i have one of his albums which includes this song. i had a difficult time singing along with this one cause he altered some notes a little. hehe. thank you for posting this. if we accept Christ as our Savior, it will not be soo difficult going through a rough time knowing that someone is actually holding us close, who lets the wind and waves go wild..
Wow i have been looking for this song, never knew who sung it....such a calming reminder....sometimes he calms the storm, but sometimes he calms his child. no truer words have been spoken of God in a long time.
James 1: 2 -- Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
Thank you so much for posting this! Ya know what? I REALLY needed to hear that chorus today, desperately. It truly touched my heart and gave me hope, so thank you, SO, so much! God Bless You.*
oh my gsoh Thank You thank You THANK YOU!!!! You wil l never know how much I appreciate this song! My son and i seen this wonderful singer in concert and I havent been able to get any CDS by him.. I have looked on amazon but to no avail.. The Lyrics are soooooooooooooooooooo timely... God Bless you!
This song means the world to me.Just a short time after being diagnosed with incurable cancer, I went with friends to see Scott Krippayne in concert. He started playing this song, which I had never heard before, and the music and words just filled my heart with peace and joy. That was exactly what I needed to hear at that moment. It was my reminder that God was by my side, and that he will never leave me. It's carried me through 12 years of chemotherapy, and I have no fear of what the future holds
this chorus came back to me when I really needed to be reminded of it today, during tests on my progressing metastatic breast cancer. It is so profound, the deep, sweet, sweet peace He gives me in the wee hours of the night! Thanks Scott for writing this song, Deb S.
Beautiful! Truly excellent! Thank you for your worshipful spirit!

Been thinking of this song a lot lately, with all the tornadoes that have struck all over. Praying that God will give peace to all the hurting.

Awesome song. But what exactly is meant by sometimes he calms his child?
BlueSea92 11 months ago
@BlueSea92 In other words, there are times when He doesn't stop the trials, but He gives us peace amidst them.

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

I just heard this song on Wretched radio and instantly fell in love with it. Reminds us of the sovereignty of God over all situations.
