He was my one of my first crushes as a little girl. Donny Osmond being the other. I was shocked to hear of his death. He always struck me as someone who tried to live his life to the fullest, no matter where it lead him. I don't know if he ever realized what an influence he was as a teen idol "back in the day." RIP Davy.

It was awesome that they had the Marathon. At least one channel paid a great tribute to Davy. I made it for the whole thing & then they played The Monkees movie..HEAD! Very trippy movie. I can see why it never got good reviews, but, it had Davy in it, so, in my book that alone makes it good. I haven't seen one magazine with anything else about Davy but still about Whitney. Really, give it a break with her. Davy was more iconic than she could ever be so, honor his memory & give recognition to him

I wrote the same thing about the non stop coverage of Whitney Houston & nothing on Davy, who has been a icon a whole lot longer. No offense to Whitney I'm not a fan and not trying to be rude but you play with drugs u pay the consequences. U had a choice with your life Davy did not He was so full of life & just wanted to live life to its fullest, entertaining & his horses. He had no choice losing his life yet the media make a big deal of these druggies & nothing about the clean ones. U R the best

Forgot to say, that the marathon is on Antenna tv. I only have normal tv..no cable, etc. On my tv it is Channel 38-2. Don't know what channel it would be for those with cable or satellite or if you would be lucky enough to even get it.

Still watching the Monkee marathon. It goes til 11pm tonight and then their movie Head will be on. For any of those who don't know & might like to. It has been going since 5pm yesterday and I have not missed one second. SO TIRED, but, am not going to give up now. 9 more hours to go..YIKES, but, it is in memory of my Number 1 guy. was going on. This song and this video in my mind marked them as

a ligit group. Back then as a kid, I too did not take them seriously. I

just thought it was another tv show. But now I really respect them.

And their fight to be ligit. If given the chance they could have proven

them selves to compete with the other ligit groups. Mike Nesmith

I had such a crush on David Jones, I was something like 10! All the controversy over whether they played their own instrumentals or not, who cares? They had great vocals, a really funny comedy show, & David had an adorable British accent :) This song always made me feel good, & still does - that's what music is all about; making people feel - whatever the emotion/feeling: happy, sad, introspective, nostalgic, full of life....they could do that & make you laugh. A pretty good combination I'd say.
