Only major cities have HSPA+ right now..You can actually check on AT&T. Go to wireless.att[dotcom]/network Hit the "coverage" tab near the bottom. And hover over your area. If a city name and "Click for more detailed local 4G coverage maps" appears, click it and examine the map, which includes 4G coverage.

Actually, AT&T does show where they have HSPA+ on their coverage maps. Though the phones not telling you when you're not in a 4G area sucks. Pretty good phone, too small for me though and I hate that they don't include a headphone jack on the phone.
