You guys are a bunch of dicks. They're mechanical engineers, not computer, electrical or CS. It may not be revolutionary or some huge advancement in technology, but it's good work for junior level mech e's. Most of the MEs i know have enough trouble with the basic Intro to Programming course.
@Rogerio34567 they are students not qualified, experienced engineers, we should be encouraging these ppl not insulting them becaus if they can, in time think of something useful it could benifit us all
@jameswoods2001 actually.. i dont think this is brilliant engineering.
this is pretty basic.
it would indeed be brilliant if you can use some kind of mechanic hand that deals the deck, positions cards, picks them up, shuffles and manages chips..
that would be awesome.
this is just some kind of buttoncontrolled engine that throws out some sh-- its fed up.
@Pihtjoe You're right, it's not brilliant engineering, but I think we did a decent job. The programming was the main challenge; getting a servo and a motor to work together was not too difficult. It is controlled by RF though. We don't go into it too much, but the program is built such that it only deals to players that are actually at the table (login buttons), It also adjusts the dealer position each hand based on the number of players and their location. It also tells you when to shuffle.
